Suunto 9 Interval Workout
-
I did a 4 x 3min work out today using the intervals feature using a custom Running sport profile. On the Interval data screen I had it on the Power Display with distance, current, Avg, and Max HR.
During the 2nd interval and on, the distance counted properly, but the current HR, avg and max HR stayed static. As I went on to the next interval, the numbers changed, but they seemed to reflect the last interval, rather than the current interval. Whats more, the current HR never showed the current heart rate. When I went back to the first data screen (ie. outside of the interval workout planner), the current HR was correct - so it wasn’t a heart rate monitor issue.
I’m on 2.10.26. I did have autolaps on - I’m not sure if this may have been affecting the Interval workout function?
Has anyone else experienced this?

Not sure, last time I did intervals everything seemed fine, but also cannot really look at the watch when in the active part of the intervals due to the effort required.

@Jonathan-Schwarz Did intervals two days ago, didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary. The heart rate appears to be moving throughout both the interval and recovery phases as did distance, power, and pace.
-
the same for me.

Ran intervals this morning and all good. Autolaps was disabled though (always is when I do intervals)
-
@NickK autolaps disabled or on? I’ll give it a try again today!
-
@Jonathan-Schwarz Auto-laps on. Forgot to disable them.
-
@NickK Okay, good to know that then! So it can work with autolaps on.

Hello
How do you program different series during an interval workout please ?
For instance, if you want to run as follows :
5000m in 23 min - 2 min rest
- 2000m in 8min20 - 2 min rest
- 1000m in 3min55 - 2 min rest
I feel like I can only program linear work out with the same distance or duration
Thanks for helping !

It’s very very simple: you can’t
-
@Notorious-CYP You can change your intervals mid-workout. So, you can create 1 repeat of 23 min/2 min rest, then change it to the next in your series. Unfortunately, you’ll be the one tracking the distance.
That being said, I’m not sure even Garmin or Polar would be able to support your specific requirements. Usually you can either do distance-based or time-based intervals, but not both.

@NickK The Ambit3 series will support a workout like that (at least while you can still get a Movescount APK for android from somone).
