In watch mode there is no black screen saving battery.
There is this option during an activity. “Screen time out”. 10sec after you do not press any buttons, goes off -
@Saketo-Nemo
but no need to activate it… because when I want to look at the values I don’t want to touch my watch every time first.
and I understand that battery lasts around 30 hours with HR chest and display on setting.
I think all these are pro’s for me -
@Saketo-Nemo there is a black screen. When not moving my wrist after some time it is activated but deactivates easily upon a light move

I sometimes see just black screens when I see people wearing S9ers casual…
is this a setting to save battery? or does it only appear to be black?Yeah, the screen gets very dim when it times out. It appears to be black. In fact often I can hardly see the screen and have to activate the watch even to see the time.
That bothers me because on all F6 photos I’ve seen so far the screen appears way more crisp.
-
@morskilav
ok, same as a3ps -
@morskilav
Of course, if the watch remains immobile for a certain period of time, it turns off the screen, but I doubt that it is the situation that @TELE-HO talks about.
In everyday life, the screen, in clock mode, turns off right during the night. or if we take it off our wrist. Not while you’re out and about. -

@Saketo-Nemo
with a slight wrist motion I guess? -
Here’s what I am talking about:
-
@silentvoyager
that’s very dark -
couldn’t you photograph it darker? -
-
That said, @TELE-HO the ambits are better seen, this is clear.
-
@Saketo-Nemo Yes the photo does exaggerate it a bit, and there is a shadow from the phone on the screen which makes it even darker. But I do have to activate backlight often enough just to see the time.
-
guys, I swear, it never happens to me. If I’m in the bedroom, in the dark, ok, backlight, in all other situations, never.
-
@Saketo-Nemo OK, here is a more realistic picture in another room where I had a bit more light
Still not crisp enough.
It gets better if I rotate my wrist to let it catch some reflective light. -
@silentvoyager
ok, it’s not fair to compare apples with pears -
Just for what’s my experience: as mentioned, it is transreflective. The more light it receives, the better it is seen. So it’s due to inclination. If you are in the dark you do not see it, otherwise just turn the watch in one other inclination.

@Saketo-Nemo
most important in daylight it works
great, I appreciate this Infos to move myself closer to a potential upgrade -

In full sun daylight it works like a charm.
