While recording ?I have to check it next time. I’m not sure.

@pilleus
When you record a exercise isn’t posible to stop HR , I check it . -
nope not possible while recording.

HR can be turned off before starting an activity but it doesn’t look like there is a way to turn it off during.
Considering WHR sensor consumes quite a bit of energy it would be quite reasonable to have HR toggle to be a part of power mode. Then it would be possible to switch HR off by switching to e.g. Custom power mode.
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos, is there any reason disabling WHR isn’t a part of power mode?
-
@silentvoyager nope I dont see any reason for not being there. At least for the custom mode.
On other modes they should respect the settings (as they are preconfigured) makes sense? -

It does to me, but it would be useful anyway.
Let’s say you start the activity using the “normal” mode, but in fact your intention was to select the custom one.
You notice your error too late, so you can’t (you won’t) restart a new activity (this happened to me some times ) but you still need to spare some battery charge -
@sartoric i like the suggestion a lot!!!
I would also like to deactivate gps during recording for climbing in between. Also switch gps to galileo if gps is bad… I see no reason why this doesn’t work. Suunto came up with the idea of intelligent battery modes. Wouldn’t this be the consequent evolution?But sure you could also answer to this, also hr referring to S9: there is no need for this because you can go to endurance or ultra mode. But it is not exactly the same…

@mountainChris
I don’t have an S9, maybe it’s already available on that model.
Didn’t check -

The way I’d position this feature is disabling built-in optical HR rather than disabling HR at all. In other words I still want HR to be available if I connect an external chest HR monitor (which consumes very little extra battery charge), but otherwise I’d like HR to be disabled. Then I’d control that by switching between the performance mode and the custom mode.

@silentvoyager
Yep, I meant OHR of course.
Just updated the title
