S9 Baro: Altitude in the same place decrease every day
-
I’ve found that the altimeter data in the watchface, even in the workouts, in the same place, decrease everyday.
For example I set up and automatic calibration in my house, usually it set up between 76 and 80m. That’s correct for me, in Google Earth the altitude is 78m.
And after that every day the altimeter value decrease, 3-4 meters. For example today is set up to 22m.
This also happens when I set up the altitude manually, following Google Earth reference. Always ends near 0m.
Is something related with software? Hardware issue?
If it’s a repeated subject, sorry, I try to search if it’s someone with the same problem and I’m capable to find.

@aldnet that looks quite fine. 3-4 meters is low.
Probably its pressure change as on non activity mode there is no GPS altitude to guide the watch. -
Another thing that can infuence this (but then it might be something tricky) is temperature.
If for example you leave the watch at the balcony and get it like after x hours that the temperature changes rapidly -

Did you mean that @aldnet ?
-
Well my Garmin Fenix used to drop to -5000 meters when I was at home… And some times pop up to + 8000 meters (as did my Fenix 3HR) so I’m really happy with the amount the 9 Baro drifts
-
@cosmecosta oh it remains 0? ? ?
-
@cosmecosta @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos yes, that is the case, but doesn’t stop to 0, in fact it continuous decrease, the case I remember I reset when it was to -22m
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos if I take the discipline to do some activity everyday that should be a way to avoid these behaviour?
-
@aldnet I would clean the sensor. I get this behaviour ususally the more the sensor gets dirty , that it can due to shower etc.
Let it soak to water, flush under the tap on the pressure sensor holes, repeat a couple of times.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos ok, I will do and see what’s happening
-
@aldnet any news about this ? i’m in the same case.
My sensor is pretty clean, i don’t take shower with the watch. It’s starting to do this since one or two weeks.
I have to set it 3 or 4 times per week if i haven’t activities.
