Suunto Spartan Sport how long does the battery last?
-
Hi guys. I’m trying to figure out how long the battery last on Suunto Spartan Sport, which is different from the Spartan Sport Wrist HR, from what I’ve seen on the specs.
I should use it for hiking, and I need a duration of at least 8 hours. Among other things, I would use it in route navigation mode, which from what I understand disables the energy saving mode of the GPS
can anyone give me a suggestion? would be really appreciated, thanks!

@Fiox89 i don’t own a spartan sport, but I have a Spartan Ultra and a 9 Baro. I’v always found the specs quite accurate when it comes to battery life, minus one hour (that’s what I noticed).
All this to say I would bet on 9h battery duration with best gps mode and navigation, based on the specs that indicate 10h battery life.

@Fiox89
I never reached 8h in navigation mode.
With the last update, if I remember well, after 4 hours it had 30% (maybe 40%) leftBut I’m curious, I’ll check the fit file and I’ll let you know
Anyway, the data sheet stats are realistic

@Fiox89
I was almost sure that there is a battery level in the activity data, but I was wrong.
So, I can’t be more precise sorry -
@sartoric
Battery data are in SA or MC raw json files.
But that files are a pain to read
But it is an existing data, and it is really a pity that Suunto ecosystem doesnt allow data owner to see thèse data
Look at that

One activity of mine, and data comes from Suuntolink json.
Battery data, gps altitude vs altitude,…, many more analysis possible (ok, more technical ones than really for activity). -
@Mff73 great tool!
… there is one “bug” in the chart: twice shown min/km instead of one time per km and one time per mile
-
@Shrek3k
Yes, the tool is great :), but the goal here is to show that Spartan Json raw files contains battery data
Just need to extract them from Suuntolink for now, and eventually from SA in the future -
@Mff73 I absolutely understood.
… just wanted to add the remark about the “bug”, in order to further improve the “optics” (number of the value was perfect AFAIK)
-
@Shrek3k
OK, understood as well
no bug here for me (or not really understood ) Only min/km

Thank you guys. Can anyone confirm the impression that the official data on battery life do not differ much from reality? on different watches too. I would need some data on the actual duration, to be able to compare with those declared. Many people’s impressions can help

@Mff73 said in Suunto Spartan Sport how long does the battery last?:
@sartoric
Battery data are in SA or MC raw json files.Ok, so I’m no fool
Unfortunately it looks like MC is not exporting it (anymore?) and I’ve deleted the old SL filesBattery data, gps altitude vs altitude,…, many more analysis possible (ok, more technical ones than really for activity).
I was planning an “alternative” analysis tool related to these metrics but now it seems I can’t get those data anymore

@Fiox89 for me I can confirm that the numbers have been a good estimate (S9, Spartan Sport, Ambit 3, Ambit 2, …)
-
I give myself an answer, since I bought the watch a few weeks ago. With the right settings, without any particular energy apart from the brightness, yesterday I did 6 hours of navigation and I returned home with 40% of battery. Not bad, I had the same average with ambit 3, about 10% / hour
