How can I follow a route from an imported GPX using the new suggested software solution?
-
That was the feature that convince me to buy my Spartan. To take gpx files from Wikiloc or wherever, and to upload them to my watch.
All I could see is that I can make my own route pointing on a map, which is clearly not enough, or follow a route from my own list. At least me I never have need to follow a route I already know.

@Alexander-Rosón import the gpx file? Put it on the phone, tap it and suunto app should open it , then select if you want it on the watch ?

That’s how I do it:
- Create it with Strava or Garmin Connect and export as GPX
- put it on Google Drive
- On phone: download it from Google Drive
- Open the file with a 3rd party file explorer because on my MotoX4 the Suunto app is not presented as a possible app for those files. The 3rd party file explorer does it right.
Do I believe that this is a great solution?: in no way.
With my Fenix 5+ I just say in Garmin Connect “use it with my Fenix5+” and I’m done.Luckily I have do this only about 1-2 times a month, so I can handle it.

@Markus-Gietzen which 3d party app do you use and how?
-
Its called FX file explorer. Just tap the GPX file and you should be prompted with apps that can handle it. For me this also includes the Suunto app.

@Markus-Gietzen so that’s odd, Amaze and Total Commander did not even consider Suunto App ( not in the list) but FX really did the trick. Thanks for the tip.

Not sure why other apps dont offer SA
