Run 2

@Egika do you know if the FW is still a different linup from other watches ?
-
@Tieutieu it is

@runomatic at this point I am also wondering what the advantage of my Race 2 is, except bigger screen size. And I am also wondering if any of the new features ever come to Race 2. And I am also wondering what the logic of having multiple watch models with multiple OS version is. For example Coros has identical SW for all watches (except features which are not working on old watches). I assume if there is going to be a Race 3, it will feature the new OS. Which makes me wonder why this was not introduced in the R2 in the first place. I really like Suunto HW, but I have my beef with decisions regarding SW.

@Steven-Hambleton “only” gorilla glass as far as I have seen online.

@OutdoorMan Race 2 advantages to Run 2 are from the top of my head:
bigger screen
premium materials like sapphire screen
a lot more battery run time
more sport modes (like kayaking - which makes a difference for me)Regarding the software: I also do not know the reasoning behind the two operating systems. I would just not call it old and new, but better two different ones. I don’t see the Race/Vertical software being replaced soon.

Looking at the features of the Suunto Run 2, am I the only one wondering what the point of a Race 2S/3S would be?
Barometer? Premium materials? Maybe unknown new features ?

@isazi it’s official official but without a buy button 🧐?
-
@Egika It’s the same size as before, so it still fits comfortably under a shirt cuff.

same size as Run - yes. I was comparing Run 2 vs Race 2 - as the question came up.

I love some little features that the Run 1 has over the Race S: Flipping the screen (so the buttons could sit one the left side) and HR-measurements only in 10-minute-intervals! Maybe the Run 2 and Race S 2 differ in the same way…

@OutdoorMan guessing here but I think run series and race/ vertical series address two different users.
Run for folks who just want to grab the watch and go running , basic stuff built in. Kinda Apple Watch style …limited customization etc
Vertical/ race for folks needing more customization and better battery life etc.
Makes sense to me. I don’t think they will drop the one or the other . Im sure there is a reason behind it if its the one I mentioned who knows but I trust their market strategists more than random people on the internet. The way they went when introducing the race / vertical series and also run put them back on the map after all.

@jw-cou in my country you can order it
-
@isazi now that works for me too (in France). I’m happy, Suunto can take my money
-
… official now, yes!
Seems like those comparison charts need some work though.
Tried it against the 9PP, my actual one and the Race 2. and there is a whole lot missing in those charts of the Run2.
