Suunto Spark

@franky23 here are my settings. I first created them on Android, and I just recently moved to iOS but I can see the same settings there (this image is from my iphone). There’s a “button customization” option in the list of settings.

I’ve lost somewhere in Lofoten my Openfit Air during my recent trip in Norway (feel free to use them—I’m giving them away
) so today I’ve bought the Spark. The sound seems way better. Hi-Res on Android 17, LHDC V5 works.
It’s very comfortable, doesn’t get in the way when wearing sunglasses, and sounds fantastic. The only thing I’d change right now is the ability to turn off that annoying tap sound—it’s unbearable. The metronome is available, and it’s a feature I missed in Suunto watches. That said, I’m curious to know if and when features related to running dynamics and the like will be available. -

The data is already available, and I’ve finally figured out how to retrieve it. Select “Suunto Spark” in SA, choose the only available activity—namely, “Running”—and then start the session. When you’re done, stop the session, and it will be saved.
The data doesn’t make sense: I was walking while I was testing it… -
@snow crazy how it didn’t occur to them that people running with their running watches would be interested in running data from another device by the same company, and in combining both sources of running data for analysis.
Other than that, the experience is quite good in my view, coming from Schockz Openrun. Which I broke. Several times. In the end after 3 years i couldn’t repair them adequately anymore. So, let’s try the Spark…
Sound quality is really good, very enjoyable. Unless…- it’s a windy day
- you’re road or gravel cycling
- you’re on a average-noisy treadmill
- there’s traffic nearby
- the gym is blasting music at you
Then it’s just not loud enough and doesn’t isolate you from those noises (that is normally part of the appeal).
Those issues also affected bone conduction headphones, but not as much. So, no new issues, but a regression.
I will do another cycling commute next week when I’m back from overseas and check again. Until then I’ll be using them at hotel gyms a lot. I think i will keep them, but the fact that I’m not sure yet says it all.

I can’t get my Spark earbuds to pair with the Suunto app. The Bluetooth connection is established successfully, but that’s where the process stops.
I tested the Spark earbuds with an Android phone, and there the pairing with the Suunto app works flawlessly. This makes me think there may be an issue specifically with the iPhone/Suunto app combination.
Is this a known issue?
P.S. The Suunto app, my iPhone, and the Spark earbuds are all up to date. I also updated the Spark earbuds’ firmware while they were connected to the Android phone.
I’m using an iPhone 17.

@Robbin053 I have an iphone 13 and struggled also ab bit. To get them connected in the Suunto app, they need to be in the charging case and this shall NOT be on a charging cable. Then it worked for me as described in the manual to add them in the app.

@Robbin053 I had an android phone when I bought the Suunto Spark. Now I have an iphone 17 and no connection issues, following pretty much the same pairing process: pair from the phone bluetooth menu, not from Suunto App, and then they should be available

@Francesco-Pagano Thank you for your responses. I have followed exactly the same steps as you described and as outlined in the instructions. However, the connection with the app still cannot be established.
I have also deleted and reinstalled the app, disconnected and re-paired the Bluetooth connection, but unfortunately nothing seems to work.
I also tried the entire process with my work phone, which is an iPhone SE (2021), but I experienced exactly the same issue there.
Therefore, I suspect that there may be a problem with the connection between iOS and Suunto.

@robbin053 I am using all my Suunto gear with iphones, including Spark.
No problem conneting them to the iphone 16 and Suunto App here.Something must be different on your side…
