Watch not connecting to wifi for map download
-
Cannot download maps to the watch
Suunto Vertical with software 2.50.28
The watch is connected to Suunto App and tells me a wifi network has been setup.
The watch wifi setting is set to auto
When I try and download a map the watch attempts to connect to the wifi network and then fails!!
The iPhone and watch are close to the router.I’ve done a factory reset, but this hasn’t solved the issue.

@Rokelly Check your router, the watch must be using the 2.4 band.
-
I’ve downgraded the software to 2.50.26, but that hasn’t altered the problem.
I’ve gone to Control Panel-Settings-About. scrolled all the way down to the base of the menu then pressed the down button for a few seconds until the debug menu appears.
The wifi menu confirmed it is not connected and there is no IP address

So the App is telling me the watch is ‘all set’ and connected to a wifi network. But the watch itself won’t connect to a wifi network. All very frustrating.
-
@Rokelly you are connecting to a 2.4 ghz network?
-
@larrybbaker 2.5ghz. At least that what it states on the router.
-
@Rokelly Make sure the SSID is not hidden and some special flags are not set on the router. This setting made me problems: “802.11r Fast Transition”. I needed to disable it on my router for several devices to work. Also authentication should be WPA2-PSK
And I run into my self-made problem by having only specific MAC addresses allowed and forgot to add the watch in the list.
That’s all I have in mind…
