      New branch of software is a bad idea. Same problem as with firmware - less frequent updates due to complexity.
      I see no issues using Ocean both for diving and other activities and all logged in a single app. Besides, lots of features like maps, notifications are universal to activities so having two separate apps would be worse than frequently updated one.

          Should be a great idea!!!

              Hi, yeah in my opinion dedicated app is a must and firmware upgrade for computer itself. Right now there is practically no information regardin tech dive. No deco ceilings, time spent, tissues history. Even Nautic itself is not showing any of such data, not mentioning to be able to see this information on graphs. Only depth and temperature, I hope that Suunto is currently intensively developing either firmware upgrade or proper app that will make this hardware really capable for tech divers.

                @Nandodiver I would actually love to see a totally new app dedicated to diving and NOT treating it as a fitness activity. It really annoys me when Suunto treats a dive like a workout! ;-(

                  @Niels-Søren-Bøgh Absolutely
                  A Mac/pc native app would be really good and I do t know why the Nautic being the flagship computer lacks this.

                    @Migsey The DM5 still exists, it shouldn’t be a big deal to bring a new version with Nautic / cloud support. Then we could see the same dives in both applications.
                    Suunto app for eyecandy and overview, DM5 for details

                      @VoiGAS Absolutely. I feel that I need more info so I can analyse the data better. The iOS app is eye candy! The nautic need something like a “DM6”. I particularly miss the planner ability on a separate app.

                        @Migsey After speaking with Suunto support, I got impression that they are fine with us using 3rd party software and not bothering about creating their own proper app, strange but ok, message received. So for now, all my data goes to Subsurface which I can recommend, using json and fit file export from suunto app.

                          One would like to be able to do the settings in the app and then transfer them to the computer. Even someone so restrictive as Shearwater allows you to do that.
