Deco dive planner
-
Hi there,
I was planning a dive on my new and shiny Nautic, with the idea of going down to 30 metres on EAN32 and having a bottom time of 25 minutes. Even with a mildly aggressive GF of 45/90, I know there will be at least one minute of deco.
When entering the data into the computer and looking at the dive phases, however, I find the way it displays the timings extremely confusing. I have taken a few screenshots of the dive plan and crudely stitched them together for illustration purposes.

My main confusion is that the computer does not seem to show the ascent (or descent) times.
From 30 metres to 6 metres, I worked out — not without a few calculations — that the ascent time is approximately 2’25", which roughly corresponds to an ascent rate of 10 m/min. The same applies to the ascent from 6 metres to 3 metres.
Would anyone else agree that having a column showing the ascent/descent times would be very useful? It would make the overall dive plan much easier to understand and, more importantly, would give a much clearer picture of the actual time required for each phase of the dive.
There is another thing I don’t particularly understand: the use of a 3-metre safety stop, especially in the sea, where swell can make maintaining 3 metres quite tricky. I believe I have specced in the settings that the last stop should be at 6m
Why doesn’t the software indicate that the final stop should be at that depth instead? In this particular case, I would have expected the plan to show 4 minutes at 6 metres, followed by approximately 19 seconds to ascend to the surface.
Am I misunderstanding the way the Nautic displays its dive phases, or is this simply a limitation of the current planner?
Thanks in advance

@Migsey I think the “last stop” option only works for deco dives. Safety stop can be done between 6m and 3m.
Maybe the 3m is the default value for the planner, because it cannot calculate a range.
