I’ve had the Race 2 since September 2025 and since then I’ve never had any problems with forgotten sensors (but so far only used a chest strap) or sudden restarts.

Now I have been mounting watt pedals on my road bike for a week (Favero Assioma Pro RS-2).

And since then I’ve had exactly the problems mentioned above:

      • The watch loses connection to the pedals during breaks (5 - 10 minutes). This despite the fact that I was certainly not more than ten meters away from the bike (happened twice so far).

      • In addition, I have had two unexpected restarts of the watch since the pedals were mounted. Once just like that, i.e. without ongoing training.
And yesterday during a running recording, when I tried to somehow reconnect to the pedals via the menu.

For example, I changed the battery mode from power to tour and back again. Unfortunately, that didn’t help. When I looked for other options in the menu (which probably don’t exist), the watch suddenly restarted.

In the “Cycling” training mode, I use two Suunto+ apps. One is ZoneSense (I know that wouldn’t be necessary anymore) and the Di2 app.
I also use a Polar H10 chest strap, but it has never caused any problems.

Are there any new findings about the sensor connection losses and the unexpected restarts?

@Stoke80 There is an issue with the reboots for sure. The question is what triggers them. I had 2 restarts yesterday; first one after I recharged the watch and the second after I put it on my wrist after some time of not wearing it, therefore it could be the wrist HR sensor. The only difference in my case is that it has never happened during an exercise yet, but always in time mode. Not sure what to do; send it back or revert firmare.

I sent my Vertical 2 in for service because of restarts. It was restarting several times a day in watch mode, and sometimes even during an activity. I couldn’t figure out what was causing them because they were random. There were only two situations where I could trigger a restart: taking a shower with a locked screen, and using interval training during an activity. I don’t have any updates yet on how the service center will solve the problem.

@runyx17 They will probably replace your watch with a new one, but the problem might reoccur if it is the issue with the newest firmware. I’m also thinking if sending it back, but I’m not sure it will resolve the issue.

As said, the only thing that has changed on my side is that I have added the Assioma Pedals as Power Sensor one week ago.

Before I did not have any issue at all. So in my case it seems it has something to do with the paired sensors.

@Stoke80 Check in the Favero app the config at which timeout the pedals go to sleep. I needed to change this and no problems since.
Reboots only if I use Suunto + apps (interval training) but that is weeks ago…
