Unfortunately the Vertical 1 Titanium is smaller, same weight (with same strap), same depth rating, same features plus Solar. So I cannot justify the buy

But I want that Watchface (MIP optimized, not like the Vector thing)it has a lot more features. not just the solar
it has gps, accelerometer, HR, SpOx (ok neither works great) , applications, color display etc… I have no idea what the core 2 audience is but I would assume is a G-Shock type of

Steps (synced to Suunto app and shown on the watch and in the app) are accurate, compared to a pedometer in the pocket.

Any chance of pictures with the red back light? I see it stated as feature but not pictures about it

@thanasis Sure, I compared the watch features. I am separating between Sport Trackers and Watches in my daily life. So I normally don’t wear the Vertical as a watch, but I would do it with the Core.
But if the Vertical is also the same or better in this discipline its hard to find a reason to buy. If I wouldn’t have the Vertical I would be very tempted -
@Squirrel Interesting Review. But why just 2m depth sensor (the Core has 10m) and no user accessible log (my old Altimax had it)
That sounds like a step back

Downgrade for sure. I haven’t seen the watch, but wonder about alleged poor daytime readability. Is this STN, or TN LCD panel?
Wonder why Suunto did not upgrade the display to monochrome MIP.
Would be more flexible with higher resolution and far better contrast than this. -
It’s a beautiful watch, that’s for sure. But it seems Suunto didn’t really change much compared to the original core. In some ways it’s even a downgrade. When I’ve seen that there will be bluetooth I was hoping there would be some kind of recording (altitude, time, depth etc.) or even some simple poi/route guidance with location data from mobile phone. I mean it’s still core, it’s beautiful looking watch, but I feel there was much potential and they kind of missed a shot…
