      Hello, I have had two mandatory Gas Time Alarms in the beginning of the dive. Anyone experienced the same? Tank was open and I had sufficient air. The first time I started an emergency ascend, and descended later making sure everything was oke at the surface…

        Hi, yes, i had this issue 2 or 3 times at some dives at the very begining of the dive. I did not made an emergency ascend, because i verified my gas with my analog pressure gauge.

          My Buddy bought a Suunto Nautic also. His 2nd dive he got the Mandatory Gas Time Alarm after 2:19 minutes in the beginning of the dive. The Nautic switched back to normal display after +/-30 Seconds.

            An new one this morning with a dive buddy in the beginning of the dive. After 10 seconds, the warning disapears.Screenshot_20260614_123852_Suunto.jpg

              @hhouter Hi
              Potentially, I think that the alarm comes either from an incorrect information from the gas probe or from a calculation error by the Nautic.
              The probe error seems unlikely if the failure happens on two different computers and two different probes!
              Apart from a tank volume error, I would actually lean towards a software bug. What’s interesting is that it only happens during the first minutes of the dive, regardless of the depth…
              Was it with the same gases?

                I had the same error on my last dive. Just after the start for no reason this happened. I thought it was because I have my old D5 as a backup computer and both are reading the same data from one tankpod. But obviously it was not as this has not happened before. I had to end the dive cause my drysuit zipper was tiny open but after this on the second start it did not happen again.

                Thinking mabye to make the D5 as the maincomputer…

                  @Ldive Thanks for your response. It happened to me this morning again… Not a very good feeling getting this message at 33 Meters. I red somewhere in the Suunto POD manuals that LED Flashlights interfere with the tank POD. I had my two OrcaTorches with me to try them out for my upcoming holiday, Same config as I had my first Mandatory Gass Time message in the beginning of the dive. I also noticed switching back from my Compass view to the air screen that it took the Nautic several Seconds to display the Air Pressure in the screen 5 - 10 Seconds (Tank Pressure --, and Gas Time --) 2 to 3 times same behaviour. I have the strong feeling it has to do with my two new flashlights as one of them was also with me the first time this happened. I dived from there with my other flashlights (SEAC I50) where for several months nothing happened… This is just my feeling so I might bee completely wrong. .74756467-a82d-4d28-be67-86c31f2d8d72-image.jpeg

                    @hhouter The probe manual says that it transmits on a frequency of 123kHz, which does not really match the flicker frequency of a LED bulb.
                    It would be interesting to see what can emit in this frequency range on your configuration or what can sometimes cause obstacles… Unless you have a buddy with equipment that emits but sticks to you during the dive 🙂

                      @Ldive Agree. But as it always happens in the beginning of the dive it might also be a pressure related issue with the POD, just see all the screen prints, it happens all the time descending. The only strange thing is that when I switched back from my compass screen the Nautic wasn’t able to show Air/Air Time for several seconds and then it picked-up. This is something i’ve never seen before.

                      To answer your remarks, LED flashlights work on a pulse modulation fequency swiching the LED on/off for full power or dimmed use, that is not the problem as this is only the bulb intensity emitting frequency.

                      The issue is that LED Driver electronics can emit signals generating Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) in the 20 - 100 Khz. So while the actual lights themselves don’t broadcast RFI signals, the internal electrical drivers and switching power supplies can generate high-frequency electromagnetic noise which can intefere with the signals transmitted by the Tank POD to the Nautic. This can intefere with the POD signals and frequency inteference can drop communication in the range of 50-90%.

                      This is what I saw happening onder water as the Nautic was not able to show Air and Air time for switching back and fourth from the compass screen.

                      I will do some testing to hope that I can reproduce this behaviour above water.
