Hi, something similar happened to me this morning. The screen froze after I pressed and held the “bottom button” to access the Control Panel, then Suunto Plus to activate live tracking, and suddenly poof! This happened twice. I had previously activated an activity tracker, and then the screen and watch froze again…
I’ve sent the logs to Suunto through the app to provide information about it. Egika, I’ll send you a private message with the details and delivery times. Cheers

This happened to me this morning. I was using a default running activity with intervals. Everything was fine, then I looked down and I see the watch face. Activity had been recorded though.

I will look into submitting logs.

This is the second time this has happened though I didn’t bother reporting it, but now that it’s happened again, I’ve looked up the issue to see if others are experiencing it. And here I am 😅

First time it happened was 7th March. Same activity type, default running activity with intervals. Activity recorded.

          Watch: Suunto Race S + Vertical 2
          Phone: OnePlus 13
          Footpod: Stryd
HR: Coros HRM + Garmin HRM 200
          Sleep: Oura ring 2

@andrewjknox I had the same issue this morning with my Vertical 2. I heard a longer sound than usual, and two minutes later I was on the locked time screen as if the watch wasn’t on my wrist. I had a trail activity running with route tracking, along with two Suunto + apps: Climb and Drink Alert (20 min). I lost part of the data, including the elevation gain.

It’s the first time this has happened. I’ve had the watch for three weeks.

It happened to me two days ago (I didn’t have a chance to send the logs). Hiking activity, map screen + GPX navigation. SuuntoPlus: Last km/mile, Weather Insights, and Burner. It froze at the end of the activity, when the ‘destination reached’ message appeared. Black screen. V2.

It’s been happening to me for 2 days now. The first time I didn’t pay much attention to it, but yesterday’s was more “fun.” In the middle of an interval workout, the watch decided to restart itself, ending the activity. When I noticed, I started the same activity again with the same interval workout, and to my surprise it restarted itself two more times. In addition to the activity, I was also using a COROS HRM. I’m trying to send the logs, but the app freezes and won’t even let me send them… a complete disaster.

Same reboot has happened to me now 3 times in the last 16 days. Just got on the support chat and was given instructions on how to submit the logs and follow-up email (I’ll attach the screenshots from the chat to make it easier for anyone else rather than having to do the chat first).

                    The crashes:
                    All 3 navigating a route (one during a race…d’oh!)
                    2 following interval workout
1 of those I had just unlocked the buttons lock and went to the map screen when it reset. The other 2 I wasn’t doing anything with the buttons.
All 3 using Stryd, Bluetooth HRM and CORE devices.

In all 3 cases, the activity was saved before it restarted, and only on one did the elevation get corrupted. Not a total loss of data but not why I chose Suunto—let’s get back to reliability!

                    Hopefully this gets sorted soon.

And the day after I posted the above, another crash/reboot during a hike. Logs sent to Suunto. Email received from support that (among other things) states “I have raised the matter with my team for it to be reviewed. Please allow us some time”

                        From support (email) today:

                        Quote:

Our technical team has confirmed that the watch may crash under heavy usage. They have identified this behavior and are working on optimizing it in a future software version.

In the meantime, we recommend the following temporary workaround:

Reduce the use of high-energy Suunto applications when possible.
Restart the watch before starting your exercise or activity.
These steps can help improve stability until the optimization is included in a future update.
