Training Peaks - interval notification
-
@Egika mmm seems a bit of a cop-out answer. My enduro shows not only the interval number but also what’s coming up next based on the same training peaks data

@stromdiddily I love my Vertical 2. But when it comes to heavy interval workouts via TrainingPeaks, it completely ruins the experience. If I’m grinding through 10–15 intervals, I want to know exactly which one I’m currently on. I’ve brought this up in the forum several times before. The poor TrainingPeaks implementation—along with the missing native transfer of resting HR, HRV, and sleep metrics—is the primary reason why I can’t commit to Suunto 100% and find myself training with my laggy Fenix 8 instead. If Suunto finally fixes this, I’m all in. But as of right now, no way.

@tuxbuster yup, I’m totally with you. Some really small items left over for Suunto to get this absolutely perfect…but not there yet
-
@Egika I agree. Unfortunately (and Suunto has gained ground, but) Suunto is not there in terms of structured training on the watch. Garmin and Coros do a better job of letting you know where you are in intervals and other types of workouts that have ever changing parts.
The best workouts on my Suunto are the ones where I go out and run. Maybe an alert based on HR or something like that, but structure seems to make the experience less than complete.
Again Suunto has made a lot of great changes in the last couple years, but for imported intervals not so much.

@tuxbuster I think that is another good point. I cannot wait for the day for wellness metrics to be able to be transferred to TP.

The Guide provided workouts are completely in the hands of the folks that create the Guides. In this case Training Peaks. So those are to blame to not include an interval counter somewhere…

@2b2bff This has been discussed here multiple times already, and you might be right. But it feels like TrainingPeaks doesn’t really care about what we submit as end users. It’s clearly not a priority for them. Maybe the Suunto community is just too small for them?! I honestly think it would be much quicker if Suunto pushed this directly with TrainingPeaks. I can’t imagine these two companies aren’t in communication.
In the meantime, feel free to upvote it on TP:
-
@2b2bff how can it be then that there is different behavior between two watches syncing the same planned workout from the same platform?
-
@stromdiddily the guides are offered from the third Party, in this case TP. As @egika writes, TP has to provide the proper guides.

Is this really the case? What watches? What different behaviour?

my enduro 3 has an entire screen dedicated to “up next” which will show the interval number you’re on, how much is left and what is planned next…all from the same planned training peaks workout that folks here are claiming is not a suunto problem
