No widget data is posting to the iphone app

I’ve had this watch for over a week now and love it but am frustrated with what appear to be beta-test-like software issues. All of my activities are posting normally in the app (Iphone 16 pro) but none of the widget data posts to the phone (sleep, steps, HR, etc).

I’ve done all of the usual things - re install the app, reset the watch, remove/re-add the widgets, allow all the permissions, latest SW revision etc and nothing works. The data shows in the watch so I know it’s being saved there but is not transferring to the watch for some reason that I am missing.

Interestingly enough the phone app does show the dozen or so songs that I’ve downloaded but the watch says there is “Nothing to play” in the media player.
