@safari Sorry for the silly jokes, mate, I was in a bit of a cheeky mood during my coffee break. Anyway, both my Vertical and my girlfriend’s Race S show the true value within 1-2° precision when compared to a real compass. There might actually be something wrong with your watch if it shows different values…

      SV: fingers crossed :D
S9 (non-baro): died after 2 months, replaced, holding strong since 03/20
Spartan Trainer: casing broke after 23 months, repaired, lost watertightness 5 months later, died
Despite some pretty bad luck, I still love Suunto!

No problem, these things happen in life.
I mainly do comparisons with an analog compass (Suunto MCA).
It might give different values too.
My mistake was sharing a different image than the one from my test.

@safari I added the chinese part because that how it felt to me when I read your post lol.
No worries, you can edit your post to put the english version instead, so future reader won’t have troubles.
Think of the declination as a simple offset between the “true north” and “magnetic north”, so a 1° error in decliation will result in a 1° difference between the true north and magnetic north, so, what you are showing is not an issue with the declination.
Analog compass will only show you the Magnetic north, if you set the Declination offset to 0 on your watch, you should have the same value.
As other mentioned, the compass integrated in watches is pretty sensitive to even simple metal stuff (the spoon in the example is "redirecting " the magnetic field along the spoon axis, thus changing the direction of the field near the watch), so its only really usable in the “wild” and far from other metallic stuff

@tuxbuster Scusa ma nin volevo fare il divertente. Ho tralasciato il fatto di aver resettato l’orologio, e tutto è tornato normale. Scusami se ti ho dato un idea sbagliata. Grazie

I recently did a settings reset on my watch because I was getting crashes on longer runs, where the watch would stop the run, and the watch face would display. This seemed to be occuring when I had the navigation display up.

However, since doing the reset, I no longer have the option to change any of the metrics displayed in the tooth on the navigation display. Those settings are now missing. I do however have pulse rate displayed, but I cannot change it, even by enabling touch on the map and tapping it.

So it would seem that ‘reset settings’ is not working as desired with the new navigation settings functionality.

@DrSilverthorn Have you selected other data fields for the ‘tooth’? Once activity is started > Map screen > Options (down button) > Data fields.

Suunto watches: Vertical 2 (Titanium Sage), Race 2 (Titanium Trail), Ocean (Sand), Race (Titanium Charcoal), Vertical (Titanium Solar Sand), 9 Baro (Ambassador Edition), Spartan Ultra (Copper Edition), Ambit 2, S6

@EzioAuditore ha. Well I could’ve sworn it wasn’t there earlier. But now it is. I must’ve been mistaken. Thank you.

                      @tomtom73: same here.

For example, my watch went from ~18% to 0 over night tonight while I was not wearing it. Battery consumption is also higher while normally wearing the watch as well as during activities since the update. I have rebooted the watch several times since the update.

I’ll observe battery consumption a little longer still, to possibly identify a pattern, but as several other users have reported the same here, I think that it would make sense to look into the issue a little bit further from Suunto side (@dimitrios-kanellopoulos).

                        Hi,

Since updating to 2.53.42 my maps are completely black on my Race 2, all regions (I tested it in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Switzerland). GPS works fine, my position is tracked correctly, and if I load a route it displays as a blue line on the black background, but no map tiles render at all.

                        Steps I’ve already tried:

                        • Deleted and re-downloaded all map regions from scratch (after the firmware update)
                        • Restarted the watch

This was working fine before. Has anyone else seen this after 2.53.42?

                        Any help appreciated.
