Wishlist for POI management (Jan 2026)

New user, bought Vertical 2 mainly for back-country navigation, disappointed at minimal POI feature. Hoping to get support (and new ideas) for wishlist.

• list POI names alphabetically (cf in order of creation)
• see POI name from map, e.g. pan so POI is centred then, popup or button
• centre map on POI (currently only have Navigate To POI)
• load set of POIs from file. e.g. collection of wild-camp sites for a given area (irrespective of Route). cf One-by-one creation via App.
• export set of POIs

• User-defined POIs. A set of letter-icons, we choose what each one stands for. ‘Labels on Maps via customisable POIs’ has details.

@jamesGW I’ll second all of these. The ability to import/export POIs from the app in particular.

I would also add, the ability to enter coordinates for a new POI creation directly on watch in the field (ie off of maps, guides, signs, etc) without needing the app would be fantastic. This was a feature on the Suunto Traverse and Traverse Alpha, but has been missing the past few years since the Spartan line. A sorely missed feature!

Please bring back to the watches the feature that was so convenient on the Suunto Traverse Alpha model. This is the ability to perform navigation or record an activity along a route created from logbook entries. This feature helped me greatly in Nepal, when it was necessary to return along a path that had been taken a week earlier.

Please, create a search feature in the forum to let users find that an idea is already existing and, at least, help them post in the correct threads subjects.
