@alessandro.venezia Did you find a solution? I’m having exactly this problem of irregular connection with the watch with my belt which I bought about 3 months ago. The problem only started a few weeks ago.

@alessandro.venezia Did you find a solution to this? I’ve had this exact problem now for a couple of weeks with a pretty new heart rate bel (Suunto Smart)

@JaakkoK I’ve the same issue on my Race. Today it drove me crazy, pretty much every 10-20s it disconnected and reconnected again. This time it was a Polar OH1 but it also happened to my chest-belt with a lower frequency though.
I already replaced battery in my chest-belt 2 times since the infamous Q2-firmware release. The battery-drain of the belt is insane high since then. The Polar OH1 was charged to 100% before the run.
There is something fundamentally wrong with the BLE handling. Yesterday I turned on the OH1 while sitting at the desk, the Suunto Race immediately connected to the OH1 although it was sitting in watchface (a beep on the watch, OH1 was no longer reachable from device I wanted to use it with).

I really hope for the next firmware release…

There is and Suunto knows about it. If and when they fix it, remains to be seen.
Have you tried restarting the watch to see if it still connects to the sensor outside of sport activity?

Yes, that helped. I was able to continue working with the BLE stack on the embedded device I currently work on 😉
Before restart the Race was always “stealing” the connection.
And I like using the Polar OH1 as a test-device, so the good thing was that it showed me that there is still something left running in the Race that tries to reach a sensor. I had a run with the very same sensor a few hours before.

@MarkusG in the next firmware update, sensor pairing will receive same major overhaul and hopefully that will get also fix issues seen with previous updates as well 😉

@MarkusG Ok, so getting another belt (other brand) won’t solve the issue then? It seems like I’ll have to settle with wrist HR until Suunto fixes this. Disappointing.

I have this issue you described with my SV1… it appeared after the last firmware update. I used two belts, one was really new, both belts the same crazy behavior. In my opinion, it’s the watch firmware.

Update: Seems like the connection problems were not fixed with the recent update. Probably the best bet is to send my HR belt to Suunto for replacement.

@JaakkoK I had so many issues with HRMs on the last firmware. Today’s run was flawless with the new firmware. I was not using a Suunto HRM though. I was using a Garmin HRM Pro + which was a boatload of trouble before. I also used the SV1 today. It might be the HRM.

Suunto Vertical, Vertical 2, Race, Race 2, Race S and Run. Rocking the Vertical 1 at the moment.

                          @JaakkoK same.

My polar H10 connects ok and stays connected. My Suunto sensor connects then the connection ‘flaps’.

This was a replacement (last 12 months) for an older Suunto sensor. I was hoping this update would fix this, but it does seem to point to the sensor being faulty.

                          Maybe a bad batch?
