Suunto 2.50.26 – Q4 2025 Release Notes
-
@Mitch9 Yes the pace zones in Intensity Zones in Training.
I just updated my Race S and it was the same.
-
No Guides in SuuntoPlus on watches (Race S and Vertical)
-
Pace Zones reset.
-
-
@Stavrogin specific heart rate zones were missing too
-
@Stavrogin downgrade Firmware fix this bug
-
New “SMART” barometric algorithm
Initial threshold reduced to 2 m (previously 3 m)
Meter-by-meter measurement after the initial threshold
New air/water filtering (wind, rain, humidity, friction)
Elimination of false ascent and descent spikes
Improved altimeter accuracy and stabilityWoo-hoo! This is unexpected and good news. I just did a quick water dip test in the sink and the behavior is much improved. I saw only a small deviation in elevation and ascent/descent numbers when dropping the watch into a bowl of water. Previously I would have seen a wild swing like demonstrated here.
Also stoked to see the ascent/descent threshold reduced to 2m. Can’t wait to grab that extra vert. Thanks, Suunto!
-
@duffman19 the threshold is reduced and the algo is now counting 0.5m increments instead of 1m after the threshold

No Guides in SuuntoPlus on watches (Race S and Vertical)
I have a custom sport mode based on running. And in fact, in the running mode the Guides section is visible, in the custom mode it is not. But funnily enough one of the Guides has been planned for today and even though I used the custom mode, I was asked whether I wanna use it, what I did.
So, they are usable if planned for today…
-
@GiPFELKiND This isn’t the case for me. Power, pace, and HR zones all remained in place after the upgrade.
-
@2b2bff Same for me. The guides are still available in my custom mode based on Running. They are not available in custom sport mode based on Trail Running.
I also removed all (I had only 2, no big deal) and created a new one. Same behavior: in Trail Running it was missing.
HR and Pace Zones were not reseted on my Race.
-
@MarkusG I think the guides are visible for custom sport modes that have an interval screen enabled. At least that is the case for my custom sport modes for running. The one I use for interval training, which also have an on-watch-interval-screen enabled, is listing suuntoplus guides. My other custom sport modes don’t
-
@smedberg What do you mean by “interval screen”? Do you mean the lap table or something different?
-
Now i understand delay. I wouldnt be comfortable to release so many new features just before chrismass holidays too.
Updated on Race 2 without issue, custom sport modes preserved.
-
@atoponce I meant one of these that you can’t customize, but have to have enabled in order to use the “old” interval feature on the watch itself(before suuntoplus)

-
@Mads-Hintz-Madsen Just did it on my Race I and no hard-reset. Went through the update process just normally

Happy to hear that it is only me (so far) who has experienced this. It seems like I am an outlier and the update went smoothly for others

-
@Mads-Hintz-Madsen perhaps your „ghost paired“ devices theory is really correct

-
@smedberg Ah. I didn’t need this before this update and I can push the workout on a specific day and it shows up as expected with the interval screen. Hopefully this isn’t what’s needed going forward.
-
@smedberg Yes, that seems to be the missing key. Good spot! I removed the interval screen from my “Running” sport-mode and the guides are gone. Maybe this is related to the things they did under the point “Interval training integration in Suunto App and watch”.
-
@Stavrogin hope it’s a bug and will be fixed asap.
-
Hello. I am new with Suunto. I have a Suunto Race 2 and have updated the firmware to the latest version. Media controls (touch taps) don’t work while running training. Is it an old issue or a new one?
-
@Stavrogin i don’t see guides and intervals settings in custom sport mode. Irony is i just wanted to try suunto guide for first time tomorrow, already created it in app. But i can use it with basic sport mode at least.
