Vertical + Suunto Smart HR Belt = connection issues!
-
I use a Suunto Vertical (latest firmware) and a Suunto Smart Heart Rate Belt (2024). About every third workout, even with a new battery, the watch loses connection with the belt (or vice versa) during the session — and never reconnects

Despite the belt’s internal memory, heart rate data isn’t synced to the watch afterward.
Probably the only workaround is to end the workout and start a new one, which isn’t always possible, depending on the activity. During volleyball game it is impossible and not only then.
This is incredibly frustrating.
Has anyone found a reliable fix or workaround for this issue?

@aslysz I would bet that both your Vertical and HR “button” unit are OK. The stretchy chest belt is usually the culprit, probably some internal connection problems. I had similar symptoms back in the days with my S9B. I bought a replacement belt and everything’s been just peachy ever since. And it’s not only me, other forum users have confirmed this.
Can you borrow another belt from a friend and see if it gets eny better?

Thank you, I didn’t consider that reason.

@aslysz I have just experienced the exact same problem. I am using a brand new belts so I can’t see that being the problem. I have just bought the suunto belt to replace a wahoo one that was intermittently dropping connection but would reconnect after a few minutes. This seems to be a problem introduced in the last few firmware updates.
