@szleslie same here. I have 24/7 OHR OFF, mobile notifications OFF, sleep tracking OFF. I do use my sport watch to do some sports :p.
In that case You don’t need sport watch, regular watch will work fine

I saw this image and was wondering whether the suunto race 2 titanium with the ‘metallic’ bezel really exists? On my Suunto Race 2 Titanium, the titanium bezel is more of a black colour.
-
@Piiipmatz Wanted to say maybe it’s just angle and lighting, but I used flashlight on my R2 Ti and just like You said, it’s more black than gray like on picture.
-
@Tami999 It may be a specific light or photo processing, which often makes the colors look slightly different than in reality.
-
@Tami999 My Race 2 Titanium will be delivered in a few days and I have to say I’m a bit concerned reading through all the Race 2 posts and the numerous issues that have been brought to light. I’m hoping it’s just early days and most of these issues will be resolved through firmware updates. I went with Suunto for rugged build and less smartwatch features like NFC, phone features etc that I wouldn’t use so hope I won’t be disappointed.
-
@tommieboy I have had mine for a week now and no issues to report. It’s a great watch and right now I am on track for 2 weeks of use for a full charge.
-
@larrybbaker that’s encouraging to hear! Glad you’re enjoying it.

Had my Race2 titanium a long time and really no issues since the official release. There can be some sync issues with metrics on the app for some, I have not experienced this recently. I like the watch a lot, it is the first AMOLED display that works well at high altitude in bright sun. I prefer buttons as I use the watch a lot in winter with heavy gloves. However, the Race 2 is the first large watch from Suunto that I can comfortably sleep with. The Vertical and Vertical 2 and Race were either to large or too heavy for me. (Ti V1, Ti R1, Steel V2)
-
@Brad_Olwin I was seriously considering the V2 as I like the look a bit better but the sleekness of the Race 2 and wearing it 24/7 won me over.
-
@Brad_Olwin Hello Brad. Is the SV2 not light enough? I believe with a nylon comes under 60 g?
-
I just took possession of my R2 titanium trail today and got it paired and set up without issue. This was the easiest device to set up out of the box that I’ve ever had. Coming from an Ambit 2 it’s like going from ox drawn cart to Ferrari. The display is out of this world and scrolling around the features is buttery smooth. Early days but so far I’m liking it a lot.

Hi there,
I am considering to get Race 2 as my daily driver and keep my V1 for any mountain activities.
I am not sure if I want to replace V1 with V2 in particular since Race 2 stainless steel is about the same weight as my V1 Ti, the screen is the same between Race 2 and V2 but the price is much lower. And I don’t bother about the flashlight.
What do you think?
-
@rooldaa If you keep V1 for mountain activities, then Race 2 should be fine. Otherwise I’d be concerned with operating the watch in skiing gloves. Or any winter gloves in general.
-
@rooldaa I have the Race 2 in steel and the Vertical 2 in Titanium.
-> The Vertical 2 wins hands down in weight and comfort.
-
@rooldaa I thought exactly the same thing and am very satisfied with the R2. I even suspect that the R2 is also well suited for mountaineering. I do miss the third button though.

The steel V2 is not. I ordered a Ti V2 for my own use and it is arriving at my house today. I will not be back to my house until Oct 29 so……. I cannot tell you and I am clearly disappointed.
-
@rooldaa Not a bad choice. I have a steel V2 that I received for testing and it is very heavy for me. I have an R2 titanium that is a delight to wear and I have a Ti V1. I think a good choice as in your shoes I would wear R2 for daily and all of my running workouts with light gloves in winter. V1 for anything with heavy gloves. The R2 crown is frustrating to use with heavy gloves.

@Brad_Olwin A “Button Mode” on the Race would be great. Then everybody could choose if they want to use the crown or instead the buttons. As the crown also is a button this should work…
