Suunto Run Bluetooth Unpairing
-
Hello everyone.
I have Suunto Run with FW version 3.21.14, and a Samsung Galaxy A35 5G with Android v15 and One UI v7.0. Suunto App v6.2.2.
Everything goes very well except Bluetooth connection . Smartphone and Suunto Run unpairs when they are too far or I disconnect Bluetooth in my smartphone. I have to pair them again to see updates in the app.
Anyone experiencing this behavior.
Any fix?.
Many thanks in advance. -
Hi @Gilles-Maiol-Vendranas-Rullier that’s crazy. I have a Pixel 8 with Android 16 and Bluetooth works perfectly with Run.
If you haven’t already, I would try deleting the pairing on both the watch and the phone, do a soft reset on the watch (by pressing the top right button until the watch restarts), and try pairing them again.

@Gilles-Maiol-Vendranas-Rullier I also have the same problem and I reset bluetooth conections on my watch and android phone all the time. This is very annoying. I have this problem nearly since I bought the watch and there isn’t any fix.

Hi @Hari-Seldon many thanks for the suggestion. I have tried plenty of things, reinstalling Suunto App, restoring watch to factory, reset the watch. Doing such things leads to same situation.

Hi @Iraklis-Markelis,
if it helps, this morning I have installed the app in another phone with an older revision of Android and the problem disappeared. I can get the phone away from the watch, put the watch in airplane mode or disable and enable Bluetooth in my smartphone and connection is re-established when conditions are met without the need to pair the watch and the Smartphone again. So it looks like the problem is related to Android version or vendor flavor. Could you tell me what is your Watch FW and Android version?. Does anyone know whats is the right way to communicate Suunto this kind of bugs?.
Many thanks! -
Hi all!
I’m experiencing the same issue. I tried to unpair from both the phone and the watch, and then soft reset the watch, and it does not seem to fix the issue.
I would say that it’s probably an issue on the phone end, that the Suunto app hasn’t figured out yet because it worked great with ky previous Garmin, meaning that there is a way to keep it synced. Also, even without doing much, when you get to the sync page of the Suunto app, it instantly looks for another device instead of the saved one. -

Well after updating to Samsung One UI 8.0 situation is even worst.
If Suunto Run and smartphone get out of range or Bluetooth is disconnected, when Bluetooth connection is possible and you open the app, these does not connect automatically, instead a connection error appears. The only way to have these connected back again is removing Suunto Run from well known Bluetooth devices and pair them again. -
@Gilles-Maiol-Vendranas-Rullier I was in the same loop just last week with my 9 Peak Pro. Really frustrating! What helped in my case is that I removed all paired BT devices/sensors from the watch and restarted and repaired the watch with the phone. Coincidentally or not, it started happening right after I enabled dual-BLE on my HR strap. After the actions taken above it works again, sort of. The weather doesn’t get updated automatically like it used to and “find my phone” function fell off too. No idea why Suunto is doing this to us. Time to figure it out.
