Suunto Vertical 2 General Discussion
-
@helgonet12 for me it got after two weeks good with Race 2. During work day when i am at office a usually get from 100% to 70-80% but if i do some hike or ride i can get lower than 50%. And i didn’t do really exhausting activity yet. So for me it looks good. Better than old Suunto 5 where i used all resources by sitting at PC

Guys as I mentioned before I had used S9B for over 5 years V2 has a bit different menu and I cannot find option to change/choose GPS satellites. I mean GPS+Galileo or Glonass etc. Where is it?
-
@tomahawk5000 It’s not available in the Vertical. It uses all systems by default.
-
Does anyone know haw good sapphire screen is in vertical 2? My five years old S9B hadn’t had any scratch in the screen, may I count on the same reliable here or should I buy any screen protector?
-
@tomahawk5000 no need of screen protection. Let your watch breathe freely ! (More seriously : since S9b all the Suunto’s I’ve had/ have with sapphire glass have not any scratches, so yes you can count on same reliability at least)
-
@tomahawk5000 There is no need to choose GPS + Glonass or Galileo anymore. It receives signals from all satellite systems at the same time, including Japanese and Chinese systems in addition to those three.

Hello Dear Forum-Members,
could someone of you Vertical 2-Owners describe, how to get a “downhill distance” during activity? For example: I`am on my way down from the Nanga Parbat and after some hours the knees are aching and I want to know the differnce in altitude until I reach the next bivac. The german descrition of the Vertical 2 on the suunto hompage isn´t clear in that point, because the touch-screen is disabled during activities.
-
@SirMcKey in S9B I had to just touch selected number
-
@tomahawk5000 Yes, in the good old times it worked that way. Is it another copy/paste mistake in the description of the new Vertical 2?
-
@SirMcKey Suunto removed Custom Battery Mode (and therefore the option to enable touch), leaving the interface that requires touch.
But I was assured here that this isn’t a bug.
Typical Suunto logic -
@SirMcKey
The new climb guidance screen is already showing you this remaining descent data, but only currently if you have at least one waypoint in your route.
Without waypoint, yes, there is a hole for now.It will probably be aligned as well for any other routes without waypoints in the future.

@Mff73 Thanks a lot! That´s what I´am looking for.
-
@v.sacre thanks to posting foto of your watch! Sage looking more blue than green, but maybe it’s the lighting conditions that matters.
By the way, I prefer watch faces with analog visors. Do you have any pictures of analog watch faces?
Many thanks!

First run with V2 and I got this error, never happened with Race. I was switching the saved route in that position. Also my zones are messed up, forgot to set them again.
-
@Kurt68 Thanks a lot
-
@Kurt68 Is that the titanium version with the green strap? I ordered mine yesterday
Display looks fantastic. As a fan of the MIPs display it will be interesting to see what it is like in use, particularly on a bike
Have you had much chance to use the V2 yet?
-
@Jan-Suchánek I had that just once in 2 years with the V1. Hopefully just a blip where satellite has been lost.
I remember having one similar with Garmin years ago when it put me in the USA! I’m in the UK…

@Jan-Suchánek Garmin Fenix 8 is slightly brighter, tested right now …
