Yes, that’s the key. I have reported the issue and my verifications in the Spanish Support Telegram Group (awesome group).

The issue is that after activities the watch remains looking for the BT devices and that process is draining battery in the backplane.

How can you test it? With the watch in repose mode (in watchface mode) power on your your previously sinced BT device. In my case, I power on my Coospo HR armband and the Vertical watch vibrates, the same way it vibrates when syncs with the device in the preactivity screen

      Workarounds:

      • Unsync BT devices (maybe after activities, and sync again before new activity)
      • Soft reset after activities. In this case tha watch forgets the sensor and the “scan” process doesn`t starts until you sync the sensor again in the preactivity menu.

Hope this helps until the hotfix is ready.

@jjpaz I can confirm this with my Race S and a Garmin HRM Pro.

So, today, after more than a full week from charging to 100% (took the watch off the charger last Wednesday in the morning) I’m at 70%. This included 6h of GPS activity (3 with map screen on). I’d say this is normal.

Hey mate do you mean by unsync after activities to click the “discovery off” button to off so it’s not looking for any devices ?

@gone-troppo I mean to unpair the connected device.
In my case, I prefer to soft reset the watch after activities, altough I have to select the sensor again every time I start a new activity…

Does downgrading the firmware to the previous one fix the problem? What if the battery problem is caused by the latest update?

It would be really nice of suunto to give us bug-fix FW update soon, so we don’t have to wait for another quarter update

@gone-troppo My Vertical had a similar problem a while ago, but it was fixed with an update or bug fix. I don’t remember.
My watch wasn’t updated to the latest firmware as soon as I read about the battery issue.

I charged my watch on 30.8 and today I have still 47% of battery left. HR, HRV and sleep tracking ON 24/7. 6,5 hours of running and walking with best GPS and H10 as HR sensor for 4 hours of that time. No battery calibration after last FW update. Batterylife is the same as the day I bought mine two years ago.

@Jugger Might be related to the manufacturer of the belt.
The H10 is off if not connected to the belt. With Garmin there’s no real “off” as far as I know.

@lessthanmore Could be that but overall battery lasts anyway over two weeks. Other users reports 10% per day consumption even without exercise.

Also I’ve never had any problems with new FWs. Is this only effecting people who had dataloss after last update?

It’s not to do with the H10 as I only use the H10 and have the 10-12% drain per day

Further update I can confirm that disconnecting paired device (hr Monitor) did not help battery life still going down at same rate. There must be other potential causes of this that are unknown
