Wing 2 general discussion
-
@Tieutieu usb-c charging on board, changed internals.
-
Ok thanks I had not noticed that…but still doesn’t make a bike change has the power bank of V1 is already usb-c, and that I never use direct charging.
-
I have no regrets about recently purchasing a second pair of first generation Suunto Wings.
-
Since release not a lot of informations regarding differences with wing 1, or tests. I’m sure wing 2 will provide extra features vs V1 otherwise I don’t understand why it would have beeen released now in the same time than SR2
-
@Tieutieu one, maybe the main difference, seems to be the direct connection between the Race 2 and the Wing 2 … at least this is how I understand Rainmakers point.
The description of the Wing 2 on Suunto’s website states in addition, that the “light is more intelligent” … flashing in line with your steps when running and ‘blinking’ (more intensive maybe) when standing.
I am fine with my Wing (1) for the predictable future … I believe and hope
-
@Shrek3k thanks I had spotted that but was not sure to understand. Makes sens indeed, and probably as you say, means news features to come on SR2 (guidance, but maybe also onboard music ?)
-
A Finnish retailer summed up the differences:
“Compared to the first version of the Wing, this version 2 differs in the following ways: it now includes voice guidance for workouts and movement sensor-based workout control. The Bluetooth version is 5.3 instead of the previous 5.2. The environmental protection rating has decreased from IP67 to IP66, which, however, can still withstand things like a downpour without issues. The speaker drivers are slightly larger than before (24.2 x 15.1 x 6.2 mm vs. the previous 22.1 x 13.15 x 6.5 mm). Charging now happens directly via a USB-C port instead of a charging dock. Oh, and it’s also heavier by a whole two grams!”
Mashable wrote that:
“The Wing 2 headphones sport a lighter, slimmer shell, so you’ll find both the fit and sound quality are much improved. The weight distribution has also been adjusted forward to make them more comfortable and keep the earbuds securely in place during long wear”
Does anyone have any first hand experience or links to reviews?
-
From what i could read the main upgrade seems to be abilty to have direct link to the watch and get direct feedback for metrics (pace…)
-
Me to
I would like to know what’s difference between wing vs wing 2.
I love my Wing and more my Aqua !
-
@Tieutieu there is no review anywhere highlighting these features.
can anybody who has them already talk about what it is specifically they do with that audio feeback?
-
-
@Mi_chael Sounds great! There also seems to be the neck fatigue test and the jump test as a feature - the Wing1 didn’t have them or did it?
-
@VoiGAS No, Wing 1 did not - and does not - have these two features
