Bug in walking mode?
-
I select “walking” mode, then I start the activity, the screen turns off, and there’s no way to restore it other than soft resetting the watch. This happens whether I start the activity without waiting for the GPS and/or heart rate sensor signals to sync, or if I wait for both. Any suggestions?

@ShinJCD only for walking? Just tried but I do not see any issue here

Yes, since the last update

Custom walking mode or default one? -
Free workout, no customization. Meanwhile, this morning I discovered that after starting my workout, as I mentioned, the screen goes dark (it almost seems like it automatically goes into “do not disturb” mode), but leaving it off still tracks my walk. Once I finished, I tried pressing the center button and, blindly, still using the crown, I selected “end”: at that point the display came back on…
-
@ShinJCD I can’t confirm the issue. But have you tried playing around with the “Display always on” or “Wake when lifted” settings? (Freely translated from the German setting)
-
The “wake when lifted” function has always been active, I will try the other one too, thanks for the advice (I should point out, however, that this thing seems to happen only under direct sunlight: it almost seems like the display darkens automatically when the activity starts)

This could be something to do with Settings -> Display -> Brightness. I have it set to medium. However, it is strange, as the display should get brighter the more light falls on it. I don’t have any problems with it, but I do notice how the automatic adjustment is sometimes a bit low or sluggish.

This morning again: I selected walking mode, but as soon as I start the activity, the display goes dark and there’s no way to turn it back on. Right now, I’m still, I’ve finished my walk, but the watch is practically dead.
As with previous times, the activity in question was carried out on the beach, so I don’t know if the issue could be related to some sort of display protection. For completeness, I should point out that the display brightness is set to “high.”
