My Race S is beeping & vibrating during structured workouts

During Saturday’s long run, I noticed for the first time ever that my Race S was beeping and vibrating letting me know if I was on target for my tempo, or going too slow/fast. It’s never beeped it me before announcing whether or not I’m hitting the intended target. Then doing hill sprints yesterday, which I also had programmed in my watch, I noticed the same beeping. Then again today doing threshold intervals.
I’m running the original firmware version 2.40.44 as the newer releases have a bad bug with dropping power to zero on the display. I’m also building my workouts in Final Surge and pushing them to Suunto.
Is this structured interval target beeping coming from Final Surge, or did I somehow activate a hidden feature in the watch I didn’t know what present?

This seems to have happened in the last 10 days or so… It is super annoying and tried many options to disable it eventually found the only way to switch it off is to set ‘do not disturb’ to on.
Is this only during structured workouts as I seem to think it happened in trail run with no suunto guide/strucured workout? will test again this weekend.

finally! it’s a shame it took so long as i have long since returned my race s.
i wonder if they’ve fixed the lap/intervals bug?
i wouldn’t be surprised if someone at TAO or runna has gotten in touch with suunto about these issues as i’ve sure they’re as tired fending off affected suunto users as suunto are.

I didn’t get any alert yesterday with my S9PP, is there any setting that I should look at?
@dankcushions the bug with automatic laps is still there unfortunately
