Software Update 2.40.44 (2025 Q1 Hotfix)
-
@pavel.samokha two days for testing a beta version of firmware, I think this a new record
-
Hi everyone,
After updating my Suunto 9 Peak Pro to version 2.40.44, the watch stopped detecting my Polar H10 heart rate sensor.
Before the update, everything worked perfectly. Now, when I try to pair the HR sensor, the watch can’t find it at all.
Things I’ve already tried:
Replaced the battery of the H10
Moistened the strap and adjusted it properly
Tested the H10 with my phone – it connects instantly via the Polar app
Ensured Bluetooth on the phone is off when trying to pair with the watch
Restarted the watch and tried pairing multiple times
The H10 clearly works, and this issue started immediately after the firmware update. I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same problem?
Thanks in advance!

@SuperFlo75 Public testing. Internal testing probably took much longer.
-
@maszop yes, I know, public testing. I‘m not a software expert, I‘m a orthopedic doctor, but in my opinion it makes sense to test a hotfix (therapy of bugs) on watches which have these bugs… that‘s why this public testing makes sense, but these watches with issues are involved too late?
I didn’t have these issues on my watch, that’s why I didn’t download the beta software, I will update in a few days after the next charging. -
@SuperFlo75 If I wrote honestly what I think about the entire software testing policy at Suunto I would be banned
There is some progress, but it’s still a comedy.
-
@Markel-Iruin Cannot confirm. I have Polar H10 too as well, and my Vertical can detect my HR sensor without issue. Before the update the sensor was paired with the watch, so it not lost the connection after the update, still works fine.
-
@Markel-Iruin I have the same combo as you: 9PP + Polar H10.
I’ll run a test this afternoon to see if it still works as usual or if I get an error like yours.
Edit: I have tried various sport modes and in all of them the Polar H10 detection starts well (as always).

hello,
successfully upgraded, I like this watch face, only complications could be 2 more - for example - top and bottom

@SuperFlo75 as far as I see, there is no formal open beta, Pavel is just a really awesome person and he is pushing for this, sharing the release candidate builds with the users of this forum hoping that having more people using it would speed up the discovery of bugs.
-
@isazi you are right, but I want to talk about how to make it better… and in my opionion (as I said before, I‘m an orthopedist, not a software freak) there are some things which can help to detect and delete bugs… one thing is sending logs from watches with issues… the other thing would be testing the new software on watches with issues… we often discussed here that not all watches have issues… and I’m not sure if Suunto has watches to test with these issues in every case… to test a hotfix on a watch without the issue to test is not very useful I think? A medical treatment will only be used for a person with an illness… but not for a healthy person

@SuperFlo75 if it was up to me (I do not even work for Suunto) I would have an open beta program for the release candidates. I hope that Suunto will move in this direction, but it can take time.

My SV updated yesterday, kept my WF untouched. Everything works smooth so far
-
Same problem with my Race. -
Yesterday I received my 9PP after repair from the service center. First thing after unpacking was this update and I have to say everything is perfect after some tests. Happy with the result, thank you Suunto!

@maszop Now that you mentioned I checked again, and indeed I can toggle the switch “ON” , and it STAYS “ON”.
P.S.
I didn’t check if map download really works, only that the switch stays ON.
P.S.2 The download works! -
@sorinus I wrote earlier that it is hard to understand the update model and find any logic in all of this.
Suunto representatives write that unfortunately it was not possible to fix it yet and the fix will be released in the next update.
Meanwhile, the publication of this pointlessly short public beta showed something completely different. It turned out that it was fixed.
What’s going on here? -
@maszop i do not think it is fixed. It is broken at least on my Race S. if it is on it stays on, one cannot turn it off. (Which is less of a problem than not being able to turn it on).
-
@Miroslava yes please!
And INTERVALS option in swimming Mode too!!
Only add the Interval option in all modes please Suuntuuuu
