Software Update 2.40.38 (2025 Q1)
-
Since update both yesterday and today my HR during running was only 120. I took off my watch, take it back on hand and it was 80~, again moved to 120, sometimes 130, than after like 5 minutes I checked again and it dropped to 80. I wear my vertical on left hand, on the same place like always, sensor is clean, hand too. Happened to me since new update
I’ll add that after yesterday running, i restarted my watch, same today before training to be sure (soft reset), but I think something happened with 2.40.38.

@surfboomerang I don’t understand, because for me, that has always been the case: when you use a Custom sport mode, it naturally goes with a custom battery mode. It just makes sense. I personally use a custom mode with “Good” GPS accuracy. From time to time, when I plan a trail run in an area known to challenge GPS reception, I switch to Performance mode for that session. Then, once I’m back on my usual routes where top precision isn’t necessary, it automatically returns to my custom setup. Curious to see the follow-up in case I’ve misunderstood how it actually works.

Well, after this update, my sleep was not tracked. What can be done to make it work?

@timecode said in Software Update 2.40.38 (2025 Q1):
@thanasis working fine here, no issues with hat.
I tested and it does have issues if you enter try 2-3 times :

@Ghost This was how it used to work:
https://forum.suunto.com/topic/8877/sport-modes-last-used-gps-mode/6
https://forum.suunto.com/topic/8273/sport-defaults-to-custom-battery-mode/12If your custom profile was different than Performance, it would default to Custom every time you start a new activity. You could select Performance, but that was only for that activity (one time).
If you set the Custom mode identical to Performance, then the watch would default to Performance every time you start an activity.
-
@surfboomerang Ok, but in that case, if it goes back to the Custom mode with the same settings as Performance, then it’s basically the same, right?
-
to me the map speed downloading is slow as before…
-
@surfboomerang same here
-
I installed the new software and just had to download two areas of Spain on holiday with hotel WiFi.
It was very quick, much much quicker than previous map installation.
I haven’t noticed ay other issues/improvement but don’t track sleep, use TbyT or use the OHR.
-
@thanasis very weird, tried multiple times and I don’t have this issue.
-
Compass calibration on 9PP make sound and vibration when it’s complete but nothing happens on SV (this was already the case before the update).
-
Nobody have issues with the autopause after the update?
-
@Bogdan1921 mine is working as expected.
-
@Audaxjoe Not working as expected
-
-
So once again, despite having auto updates set to OFF, my 9PP updated to latest s/w overnight.
I just want the watch I purchased, which had stable HR monitor, good battery life, and counted steps correctly.
Now all these things are broken, but I’ve got some ugly carousel scrolling and promise of some themed watch faces I’m not interested in… -
@surfboomerang yes, all the while i always set Custom setting same with Performance mode then Performance mode will become default but after this update it can’t. Really thanks for your confirmation.
-
@Antonello85 Same behaviour for me on my Race S regarding the second hand being white no matter what accent colour I choose with the Simplicity watch face. I tried restarting, uninstalling and then reinstalling the watch face, and unfortunately it’s stuck on white. This obviously isn’t a huge deal, but it’s a bit annoying.
-
Small thing but in the old-school chrono the second hand no longer has a cool color accent, even if the accent color for the watch face is customized to one. Bummer every fix seems to affect things that were fine!

Sleep data now fully synced, good job.
