I have been using the “Race s” for just over a month now and for the most part it has been serving my needs. HOWEVER, one major issue that I have been having troubles with is that I can’t seem to figure how the “Lap duration” during the swim is functioning!

During my runs, the “Lap duration” is simply measuring and I manually press on the lap button to get my lap time shown, however while swimming, the lap duration field is always at zero and the time is not running so when I press the lap button on my watch, I get a split time of zero.

P.S, all I need is to have full manual control of my lap times - I basically want to start my lap time as I push off the wall on the swim and press it one more time as I reach back to have an accurate lap time to the split second.

Is there any work around for this?

      Many thanks!

@omar_as58 I have the same demands as what you addressed, however as i know Suunto doesn’t work that way as Garmin does. Lap button will do nothing during swimming session, The watch itself will automatically activate the swim timing few seconds after you push off the wall, and pause automatically few seconds when reach back to the wall. I know it’s not accurate but acceptable, and i’ve did some test with my Garmin on my other wrist.

@jakexuan Thank you for your insight!
It certainly is frustrating and does seem like it can be an easy fix…
I do rely on the automatic interval count/timing and don’t mind the slight inaccuracy for the easy stuff, but when I am doing any type of speed work, I do need to have full control on the start and finish to have a fully accurate split times 😕

As silly as it sounds, I think my only option for when doing main sets would be to switch to a running profile and use the lap duration counter on there 😕
