Hi, I have a couple customised sport modes for running, I like to have specific screens for intervals and track work.
One thing I notice is the manual interval option is missing in these sport modes. It exists in the basic running modes, track, trail etc. but not when you create a custom running mode.
      Why is that?

It’s a separate screen you need to add when customizing a sports mode.

@jussim Yes I saw that in the manual, but I don’t understand why that is when it is an option by default for the basic running modes.
The screens on offer don’t have the data i want to see during intervals, so it’s a waste of a screen just to enable basic intervals.
          Why?!

@matthinsh Because it allows users to customize as they wish. I built my own custom interval sport mode and use structured workouts instead of the interval screen so I get the metrics I want.

@Brad_Olwin if that’s how it’s designed, and I do see the benefit, then why not let me change the ‘interval’ screen so I can have the data I want, not have a default set of data which is not useful to me.
I don’t understand why the two are locked down like this?

@matthinsh The interval screen you can insert in firmware is fixed, there are several options. I think a lot of work to make the fields variable otherwise probably would have been done. As I said, just design a custom sport mode, that allows a custom lap counter as well, which is often requested.

@Brad_Olwin I think you’re right. I also doubt many people are that bothered by it, it’s quite a niche thing. It’s just really useful for hitting specific paces on a track, for example, ave lap pace is super useful for this sort of thing.
