OHR Issues: Can I Help?
-
For the last four years, I’ve been using the Garmin Fenix 7X (and 6) and Coros Pace 3 and the optical heart rate readings have been generally great. Better than I expected really, OHR tech has come a long way. Sure, I get lower readings in winter (nothing crazy though), but it’s cold and there’s less blood flow to my hands.
Unfortunately, that’s not been the case so far with my new Race S (which I’m testing while I recover from a surgery on daily walks) and I’m wondering is there anything I can do to help Suunto improve theirs? I knew this was a risk before I got the watch having done a lot of research but I’ve got an armband HR monitor and I could just disable OHR altogether on the Suunto as to me, the only thing worse than no data, is bad data.
At the end of this post are two screenshots of my last two walks, first one with a HR dropout/disconnection and the other with a large spike in the middle.
Am I able to submit my .FIT files to Suunto support where these could be used for analysis to help improve the firmware? Everything else on the watch so far has been great
Thanks!
