Suunto Race S bug collection
-
Since there is no post dedicated to posting Race S bugs, I am starting one. Here are we go!
- When using a graphical HR field in a custom sport mode, it shows some arbitrary flat HR in a beginning of a run. Just to be clear, the actual activity HR starts in the middle of the graph - the graph horizontal scale seems to represent the last ~40 min, but the activity has lasted for only 22 minutes in this case.
-
If I use Spint SuuntoPlus app, when on the app screen, I can pause the activity by pressing the upper button, but it doesn’t stop the activity by pressing the lower button next to “stop” icon. Instead it creates a lap - that is while the activity is already paused.
-
When I bring up the Timer (via the shortcut), if I press the lower button, instead of going to the timer options (e.g. Stopwatch, 1 min, 3 min, etc), it goes back to the watch face. The only way to go to the timer options is via the touch or the wheel. Also, if I use a custom timer time, it isn’t remembered anywhere so the next time I can’t recall the option. Ideally, a custom time should be added to a short list of presets and presets should be ordered by the last used order. When I make tea, I commonly use 3, 4, or 5 minute timers depending on the tea. There is no way to make the watch remember 4 minutes, and switching between these options is kind of a pain.

@sky-runner thank you!
Will have to check #1
Reported #2
And #3 I think is by design. Bottom button in Race is for going back. You get the same if you open the timer through the widget.
That’s what touch and scroll wheel are for -
@Egika said in Suunto Race S bug collection:
Bottom button in Race is for going back
That seems inconsistent to me - I still make mistakes with that. Sometimes the bottom button goes back, sometimes it does something else, and sometimes long press on the spin button should be used to go back.
Anyway, may I suggest to not pre-populate the timer with specific times - that makes it difficult to go to the custom time at the end of the list. Instead it should remember the last few used times in a short list. I think that would be more usable.

@sky-runner I agree 100% with your suggested changes to the timer!

One bug I encountered is that my OHR stopped working after I was charging my watch to download maps.
Didn’t realise until next day when i had no resources, sleep or HR data. I had to reboot the watch which fixed the issue.
