Charge cable not working
-
I am having trouble charging my vertical watch. The connection to the watch is poor and the magnetic connection is weak. I have tried various usb sockets in various plugs made sure the watch is on a table, so flat. Rubbed and cleaned the connectors and still the charge cable doesn’t work.
This has been happening only a few months after I had to send the watch back twice and get a replacement the charge cable started becoming faulty only a few months after receiving the new watch. Considering the price of the Verticle the charge connector looked cheap and poorly made.

i had problems with the charger because of sun screen.
Sun screen on the wrist, would go to watch, then to charger…Cleaned the charger and it started working again…

Strong magnet can damage watch internal part.
That’s why the new charger is not as strong as the old ones (spartan, s9 etc.) -
@sartoric should I remove/edit my post as it could lead to some watches damages so ?

as you prefer, or just add a note -
@linda-Parsons I can say that sometimes the stock watch straps will push the body of the watch up off the charger pod when sitting on a flat surface. I have had the best success by placing both the charger and watch on a thicker towel, carpet etc. which allows the straps to sit lower.
As mentioned, stronger magnets can damage the internals of the watch and are not advised. -
I am not sure what the issue could be - I gently lower my watch towards the charger and let the magnets snap onto the watch/align themselves. Set it and forget it. Never had issues with charging.

@larrybbaker that is the technique I use now and it does seem stressful.
But I still find the implications very poor, a slight knock and it is out of alignment.
The older Suunto clip charger like the Traverse had was secure and not dependent on magnetic attraction.
Luckily we don’t have to charge very often and the Vertical charges quickly.
