Hello does suunto barometer widget show ambient pressure or - sea level pressure becaue when i went to the mountains in sport mode with gps, the elevation was ascending and was correct but the pressure wasnt reducing as i was ascending ?

@Mikotimo
Sea level pressure -
@Mff73 So if it is sea level pressure my barometer widget is behaving correctly when asceding while the elevation correctly rises?

@Mikotimo Suunto Watches measure the absolute pressure (local) but they show the relative pressure at sea level by scaling the measurement with the current altitude. Assuming that the atmospheric pressure (sea level) is constant during your activity, the height changes as you climb while the pressure should remain constant. The best would be to use the “auto adjust altitude” option, which correct the actual altitude with the GPS, before starting an hiking.

theorically, fusedalti should handle this automatically and altitude/sealevel pressure should be correct (assuming the first minutes of the activy to let fused alti correcting).

the auto adjust altitude actually requires more than 1 minute, I would say about 15/20 min, assuming a clear sky view, this is because the 3D fix needed to get a good altitude estimation requires longer data accumulation than to simply get the 2D fix (lat, lon)
