Triathlon mode: normal bike speed triggers « have your forgotten to stop your watch » message?
-
Hello,
I used my Suunto Vertical for a triathlon this weekend and I think I encountered a bug in the feature introduced recently that reminds you to stop your watch when it detects an « abnormal speed ».
A couple of seconds after I started the first downhill section on the bike, I got the « have you forgotten to stop your watch? » message. I wasn’t going that fast and my track doesn’t show any peak in the speed recorded.
Maybe is it just that it used the swimming value for « abnormal » speed even after changing sport (transition and then bike)?

@tuxella can you estimate how fast you were going? I have not seen this message on my last tri 3 weeks ago…
Thx! -
I’d say 25 or 30 km/h

@tuxella Yes around 30 km/h it is. I have this issue with windsurfing also.
-
@surfboomerang interesting. I have never encountered this issue with the bike mode (and I have never windsurfed faster that 30 km/h either)
-
thank you both. By design the abnormal speed check should not take place during bike rides or windsurfing activities.
Filed a bug for this. If you encounter the situation again, you could help by sending logs right after this happened and tell me the time and date plus your Suunto user name (in PM)
Thank you!

@Egika I can send logs, but this is fairly easy to reproduce. Start one of those activities and get in a car or on a bike and accelerate to more than 30 km/h
I thought it was a side effect of the feature when it was released

According to Joaquin in his video about the Q3 firmware release ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBLcEbux9bQ ) , this should be fixed
