New watch setup bugs report
-
Hello
My Race S has arrived and as I’ve gone through setting it up to match my 5 Peak I’ve noted a couple of bugs I thought worth reporting.
Firstly, when creating new sports modes in the app they aren’t showing up correctly on the watch in the initial activities list (swipe downward from watch face). I deleted some of the original entries but when I checked on the watch Badminton was still showing even though I’d deleted it. When I then went to setup some new activities I found the last one I created before checking on the watch would be missing but instead there would be a duplicate of one of the other activities. For instance, I created a ‘walking’ activity with a label of ‘with maps’ but instead on the watch I had 2 copies of the ‘Run’ activity with the label ‘training’. I can “fix” things by going to any activity and then changing the activity by scrolling down and selecting an alternative from the (correctly showing) list. When I then go back out to the general activity list everything shows correctly.
Secondly, I went through and deleted suuntoplus apps I don’t use and added a few I do use or would like to use. As I ‘removed from watch’ / ‘uninstalled’ and unflagged and then flagged and added to watch various apps in quick succession I found the App UI slowed down progressively until it crashed out. This happened 3 times while I was working with the suuntoplus apps. I don’t know if this is more an app issue or a watch sync issue.
Thirdly, I wanted to flag that the alert/notification for an upcoming meeting is showing with the ‘call ended’ icon. That’s the orange horizontal receiver icon with an X below it. I would not have expected this icon to be showing.
Lastly, which is more of a minor annoyance, when you change watch face the highlight colour keeps resetting back to orange.
I’m on firmware 2.35.36

One further bug I’ve noticed, just to add to the list
When you disable navigation (set it to ‘Off’) the setting isn’t remembered between activities for the same activity profile. I have a ‘training’ running profile I use for my structured workouts and every time I have to go turn off navigation as I don’t need it for structured workouts and don’t want the map display in my cycle of activity screens.
I can understand if other nav modes aren’t remembered but off vs on should really be remembered.
-
@far-blue I have the same issue, not remembering settings for same activity profile, but for the battery setting.
Am I correct in assuming you are using a custom activity profile? -
@far-blue only some of the activity preferences have a semi-permanent state, others (such as the navigation) do not have a state outside the activity profile itself.

@isazi navigation not being remembered is a bug I think, it’s been mentioned many times, this was introduced a couple of firmwares back, this used to work
-
@herlas as far as I know, it is intended, and making it something that is remembered has been proposed internally.

@isazi got it, so it was a feature
