Auto-pause not working in structured workout?
-
Setup:
- Vertical with fancy summer FW
- Paired chest strap
- Stryd Duo as foot pod, but not power pod (that’s reserved for my bike!)
- Structured workout with a date attached
- Train.Red S+
- Not using the Stryd S+ integration!!!
- Custom power mode selected by default, NB: I haven’t selected the custom power mode, that seems to happen when a structured workout with a date is set
- Auto-pause set to on
Problem: when I stop running at the traffic lights, speed/pace/cadence/power drop to 0, but the activity doesn’t auto-pause.
Is this known/has anyone else seen it? I couldn’t see other posts, but I’m only human.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos thanks!

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I had another scheduled run today:
- It didn’t remember that I was previously using Train.Red S+ (S+ not being remembered with scheduled workouts is a problem for the Race S, too)
- custom power profile was selected, showing the same projected battery life as ‘best’
I changed the power profile to best (Performance?), and auto-pause worked.
-
@Ze-Stuart then it’s the profile. I suppose auto pause doesn’t work well with non performance modes.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos do you know why a scheduled workout loads a custom power profile? I haven’t created one, or selected it, so it seems like a bug.
Addendum: I forgot, I’m using a custom sport mode! If I choose the custom sport mode, it loads a custom power profile. If I choose the standard sport profile, it loads the default power profile…
Updated problem statement: when using a custom sport mode, it sets the default power profile to custom, which prevents auto-pause from working. This happens even when no custom profiles have been created by the user, with no option to set the default power mode for a custom sport mode.
Bim now I’m going for my run.
