Issue - morning report
-
Exactly what @Tieutieu said. Most other watch brands (I know Garmin and Apple for sure) will not continue to track sleep once you’ve viewed the morning report. Suunto does.
For instance, this morning I woke when the watch’s alarm went off (the same time the DND was set to turn off as well). I viewed the morning report, got up for a few minutes and decided I could use more sleep. I turned DND back on, went back to bed for a bit, and received a new morning report with updated sleep times when I awoke a second time. That’s ideal.
Again as @Tieutieu mentioned, sometimes you do need to get up at 4am!

@Tieutieu thanks a lot. I didn’t know that.
But why are we supposed to have that screen on when you have DND enabled? I mean, It does not make any sense to have that screen flashed at night just because you have pressed a button.

@dreamer_ I don’t think DND and sleep are exclusively linked. DND simply mutes sounds and vibrations and dims the screen. It can be turned on and off any time, like when in a theater. This is why there are separate Sleep and DND schedules. The watch is using your Sleep schedule to more closely monitor when you fall asleep and wake using HR, movement, etc. The DND schedule is just a handy way to turn off notifications without having to activate it every night.
For me, I have the Sleep schedule extended beyond when I usually go to sleep and wake so it is more likely to catch times I drift off early or sleep in late. My DND schedule is more narrow (ends earlier than Sleep) so that I don’t miss important notifications or phone calls that might come early in the morning.
So in the scenario where you do need to wake early (4am for a race), you’ll need to remember to turn DND off if you want to receive notifications.

@duffman19 nice point. I usually have all notifications disabled (in any watch) because I don’t like the idea of having pop-ups in my watch everytime. We are so connected that I have enough with the notifications in the phone . This is something totally personal, of course
About the morning report, I don’t find myself this like a big issue, of course. But is more likely you are going to wake up after or near the end of your DND; and not everyday at 4am or whatever.
I mean, if you have set the DND is because it’s very likely you don’t want that morning report notification at any time in the night. -
Today I have not received the morning report after the update.
Has anyone else not received the report? -
@dreamer_ mine came through just fine
-
@Todd-Danielczyk I meant, I did not received the report in the watch today. As I was posting in the other thread, It is there in the app though
-
@dreamer_ I had this occur once. You might do a restart of the watch.
