SOFTWARE UPDATE 2.35.34 Q2

@Egika said in SOFTWARE UPDATE 2.35.34 Q2:Some of those indeed sound weird. There’s no separate GNSS settings for an S+…
Maybe @Raimo-Järvi can help with the discrepancy of this S+?Weekly distance app shows total distance of workouts where you used Weekly distance app, which may or may not be same as total distance of all workouts of the week. First day of the week in Weekly distance depends on your watch setting, which I think is automatically synced from mobile device.
Indeed there is no separate GNSS setting for SuuntoPlus. How would that even work…
The Suunto+ app might be interpreting the data differently compared to the sport mode. This can happen if there are differences in how each mode processes GPS data, especially if there are signal interruptions.
It’s possible if SuuntoPlus app calculates the values itself, but in this case it uses the same distance value as other displays. A few apps like Direct path or Loop apps use GPS coordinates for calculations, but mostly the apps work with higher level values like speed, distance etc.
Synchronization Issues: There might be a synchronization issue between the Suunto+ app and the watch. Ensure that both are fully synced before and after your activity.
There could be all sorts of synchronization issues, but I don’t know what this means. There’s nothing you can do to “Ensure that both are fully synced” AFAIK.

@Raimo-Järvi @Egika I did a run and calculated a little bit and it looked like that the run was added with the correct distance in suunto+ weekly distance. I’ll give it a new shot next Monday when a new weekly distance week starts
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos yes, you are right, 121bpm is not in z2 as in my picture, I did not notice that.
-
@Egika oh, God, it seems, that HRV was an unlucky parallel event. I mean, battery in the Sensor
Btw, that would be a good idea to adding battery level function to list of requested functionsThanks Egika
-
@Александр-Даниленко yes it was on! So I guess this could be the issue.
Didn’t turn it on by myself. Thanks very much. -
@isazi I think it is the Backlight that was always on after the update.
I turned it of and will check the lifespan again.
Before it was using 3% in about an hour with just using it as a watch. Thanks for taking care. -
I think I found a bug with the new pause screen when I ran tonight.
I pause my activity to consult the map, then I return to the main screen (thanks to long press middle button). At this time, I see the green and red icons, and the yellow pause message at the bottom.
I started running again without restarting the activity : I therefore got the pop-up screen which informed me that movement had been detected and suggested that I resume. So I accepted by pressing the button on this popup.
The green and red icons are still displayed but the elapsed time is no longer frozen and the yellow pause label is no longer displayed
I’ll try to do it again on my next activity to confirm.

The new complication system doesn’t make intuitive sense to me. I used to be able to toggle through battery %, steps, altitude, and sunrise/sunset. Was that capability removed? If so, why? I used that feature every day on the Race. Please bring it back.
-
@enriqueescoms I believe you! It has just been a long time since I used that firmware. I have an extra 9PP I will keep on this firmware. To get the extra map functions and climb guidance on the newer watches I think the trade off is worth it. Unfortunately, not likely to change on the watch with no maps. It isn’t that bad to cycle to another screen.
-
Could it be that the vibration on SV is a little bit softer or smoother after the update?
-
@GiPFELKiND for both this is by concept.
That should be right, it behaves bit differently for Snorkeling & Mermaiding. -> There is no concept of “Pause” and it is not allowed to stop when submerged. And hence the ending sequence differs from new exercise ending flow.
-
@Naseem-Rayyan Same here. I really liked being able to double tap the complications - I could quickly access more data without having to clutter up the watch face. Hopefully they bring that feature back.
-
Showing the average speed still does not work when you have created your own cycling sports mode…
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Well, what you say makes sense. But at some point in life you will have to stop the activity. And at that moment the displayed menu will not be the new one.
-
@steoreggia Yes I fully agree - I also used the same watchface - loss of the compass needle and ability to scroll through complications by tapping is a bummer can’t see why they removed that

Oops, well, if it was a deliberate decision and not a bug, it would seem like a poorly optimized approach, at the very least. Because if I only have three buttons and one has no function in the short press, it means that only 83% of the capacity is used.
Obviously we can deal with it, but I think it is quite cumbersome to have to cycle two screens (not just one) until we reach one where we can stop the activity.
With all due respect, and from my point of view, it is a very unfortunate implementation.
-
@Durri I think that’s average cycling power per interval.
-
@Ivo-Smolis They removed it because people have been complaining about non customisable watch faces. So now that the watch faces are customisable, people complain about the ‘old tap and switch’ The only way they could bring it back is if they enable customisation via the app. Since if you customise the complication what others will need to be added to it? How many? And all sorts of problems coming with the 2 different ways of doing it.

@Highlands said in SOFTWARE UPDATE 2.35.34 Q2:
My SR didn’t log any sleep data after updating the watch last night. No sleep report this morning. Sleep tracking and HRV logging settings are on and haven’t changed after the update. After the update itself I have rebooted the device by holding the upper button for 12 seconds.
A second night after updating. The issues didn’t reproduce. All normal with sleep tracking.

@EzioAuditore can’t be easy for Suunto developers. Always something that people think is wrong.
Only thing I want now from the watch is better maps, and maybe some more work with the step tracking. Other than that the watch is awesome:)
Best update so far
