S9 v. 2.1.14 has GLONASS disabled, right?
-
So, am I correct in my understanding that even though Sony new chip has support for both GLONASS and Galileo, both are currently disabled and only GPS is used? Hence, the GLONASS toggle that used to exist on Spartan units isn’t there in activity options?
-
@NickK kinda correct. Yes has glonass but not Galileo yet.
However if all goes well we will all be happy with the new Sony stuff that suunto is working on.
We put a lot of work atm at the subject of GPS
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos So, GLONASS support is there but disabled? Galileo is coming?
I honestly don’t really care about the two, just making sure if they are in the mix I can enable and disable them based on how they perform along the routes I usually take.
-
@NickK soon you will know more. I cannot say anything more unfortunately
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos how painful waiting!
-
Galileo reports over on the Garmin webs don’t seem to be so good but very early days and different chipset obviously.
As someone who runs in forests 90% of the time, the more time spent tweaking GPS potential the better
-
I had better results without Glonass.

When the GPS is shitty anyway, it doesn’t matter at all!
