Shimano Di2

@Raimo-Järvi How do you know about the update? Are there release notes? Is there an official page?
-
@zucchero the S+ description in the Suunto App has information of when it has been updated.
DI2 shows 7.6.25 16:53 -
@zucchero @Raimo-Järvi is working at Suunto and in charge of (most?) S+ apps. So you got a reply directly from the source
-
@isazi Thank you! Good to know.
Was there another update on 11.06.2024, 18:40 or am I looking for the date of the update in the wrong place?
-
@zucchero You’re looking at the right place, I guess that’s “My SuuntoPlus sports apps” view. But I don’t know why it shows a different date for you, for Di2 app I see 7.6.2024 17:53, that’s when it was last updated. Are you using iOS or Android?
Unfortunately we don’t have any release notes page for SuuntoPlus apps. We’re still working on some issues in Shimano apps, we’ll post an update here when they’re fixed.
-
@Raimo-Järvi Thank you for the info. I’m using iOS 17.5.1

I found an other issue with the Shimano Di2 app:
When I start Bicycling (Basic) with SHIMANO Di2 switched OFF in the SuuntoPlus Sports Apps, then there is nevertheless the screen for SHIMANO Di2 right after the screen with the map. The SHIMANO Di2 screen shows no data, about what I’m not surprised, because I wasn’t asked to connect.
When will all these issues be fixed?
-
@zucchero Did you have “SuuntoPlus: None” shown in workout menu before starting the workout?
See my reply in e-bike app thread, Bluetooth issue is the same in both Shimano apps:

Hi,
I have found that the Shimano Di2 App is not remembered after being used in a Cycling (basic) activity.
According to the SuuntoPlus FAQ:
Note: The SuuntoPlus sports app you select for an exercise will be remembered on the watch for future uses of that same sport mode - i.e. it will be automatically selected when you start another exercise with the same sport mode. You can de-select it or change it before starting as usual.
But next time I am about to start a Cycling (basic) activity, the options shows SuuntoPlus: None.
I am using a Suunto 9 and I really hope this will be fixed in a future update (wishful thinking?).
Cheers!

@wachutunai said in Shimano Di2:

Are you saying that other SuuntoPlus apps are remembered, but not Shimano Di2? I think only newer watches remember the app, but not Suunto 9.
-
Hi @Raimo-Järvi,
I did a quick test enabling the Cooper Test SuuntoPlus App in a Running (basic) activity and the same thing happen (not remembered in a new Running (basic) activity).
So, as you say, Suunto Plus Apps are not remembered in Suunto 9 watches.
I would be nice though, in case Suunto is still maintaining this watch
Cheers!
-
@wachutunai Thank you for confirming that. Suunto 9 received its latest software update on June 28th, 2023. Even if there would be an update for it in the future, I don’t think remembering SuuntoPlus apps will be included in it.

Hello,
I am experiencing the exact same problem as @zucchero. Has this issue been resolved? I am using the Suunto Race with the Shimano BT-DN110 Di2 Battery (Shimano RD-RX815 + Shimano GRX Di2 RX815).
I tried in discovery mode and then tried waking up the Di2 system, but it didn’t work.
Any tips? @Raimo-Järvi
-
@Wilderlicht BLE issue with Shimano devices should have been fixed in software update 2.37.34. What is your Suunto Race software version?
-
@Raimo-Järvi ! The version on my suunto is V2.37.34.
-
@Wilderlicht Then I don’t know what the problem is. You could try restarting the watch, probably doesn’t help but worth trying.
SuuntoPlus store says Di2 app has been last updated in June. @pavel-samokha Could you check that latest Shimano apps have been activated in SuuntoPlus store?
-
@Raimo-Järvi No, they were not. Activated now, thanks!
-
Will there be something similar for SRAM AXS ?? Would be great.
-
@Stoke80 has been discussed before. not possible, as SRAM does not open their protocol for external development
-
@Egika surely we could have gear and battery information recorded and displayed? Garmin and Wahoo both do this for SRAM.
