Let’s discuss the new device here

@pavel-samokha Beauty… Let me see how my summer holidays turn out to be but I would love to enjoy the Greek sea wearing this… if my toddler permits it that is

Cool, new product!
I would say that Suunto is nailing their products because they know their users well.
The new hardware and software platform that started with the S9PP is showing a lot of value.
As always the user experience and interface are really well executed, well done Suunto!
-
As a product it must be recognized that it is very, very attractive. It is not cheap but quality is appreciated.
“Fortunately” is too big for my daily life, so I’ll save the expense. I will continue (happily) with my 9PP for sporting activities and my old reliable Zoop Novo for those recreational dives.

I have been testing one for a while now, it is such a beautiful watch, very classic in look. I would think about it if it wasn’t AMOLED, but this screen is great underwater.
-
@isazi Is it correct to assume it has all the Race functionalities + the diving features? Thnx
-
@EzioAuditore yes, it has (almost?) all functionalities of the Race that you already know. Plus many diving functionalities, the ones you would expect from a diving device.
At the moment it doesn’t have the new functionalities that the Race will have soon, but that will follow. I believe that the development of a diving device is more strict, so it takes more time to test, thus getting the update a bit later.
-
@isazi Indeed. Great, thanks a lot. Based on the page it looks like it has Suunto’s algos for steps, rem etc. so it makes it closer to Race than to SV and I might be tempted to get one once in stock Cheers.
-
@EzioAuditore it feels a bit more Race because of the screen, but it has buttons and no crown, so more like Vertical.
-
@isazi
“At the moment it doesn’t have the new functionalities that the Race will have soon…”wow - that sounds awesome. Can you reveal a bit of what’s to come, please
-
Nice watch ! Glad to see that it is the first amoled watch made in finland.
Makes us expect other high range watches still made in finland !
Nice piece of work ! (I prefer the 3 buttons instead of crown) -
@Tieutieu Indeed. And since there is a led on the side, put it on the oposite side of the sensor (so north side) and have a flash for night running. And call it Suunto Night
-
@Rayfox not in this thread please, let it be for Suunto Ocean
-
This watch looks really nice, but it is also really heavy (99g)! Not so good for the OHR sensor? Will there be a titanium version, or is stainless steel essential for diving ?
-
@SuperFlo75 the watch itself if basically the same weight as Vertical. the extra 10g come from the sturdy diving strap.
If you use a Suunto silicone strap the weight is the same as Vertical -
@Egika Any information on the availability of the watch. I.e.: It is out of stock on the German page
-
Judging from the promotional materials - UI looks fantastic, nicely designed.
-
@Łukasz-Szmigiel another example of Suunto’s great nordic design
-
@Egika I can read on Suunto homepage… SV Titatium solar 74g, Suunto Steel 86g, and Ocean 99g 25g difference… I use SV Ti
-
@SuperFlo75 99 with the strap, 73 without (on my scale). It is a heavier watch, but is a diving watch first.
