Beta firmware for sync issues 2.33.16
-
@Zoltan
just recharge and to be sure restart the watch and it should be fine -
Hello, more than 4 days had passed since I installed the beta update, during that period I recorded about ten activities (2/3 per day) and all of them synchronised without any problem.
From my side I would say that firmware 2.33.16 solved the sync bug on my Race. -
Installed on day of release. Had intermittent sync issues before - none since. Thank you!
-
Installed beta fw today on my Race and since then 4 activities have synced pretty much instantaneously. Looks like we might be out of the woods. Good to have it working after 2 months of constant battles.
As a precautionary measure, I’ll keep automatic updates off to avoid a similar risk of ending up as a beta tester in the future.
-
Ditto here. I’ve finally managed to install the latest patch and things have so far been working as they should with activities syncing almost instantaneously. Thank you!
-
Hello,
Relase installed yesterday and my two activites sync perfectly well. Thank you Suunto for the hotfix !
-
Hello,
Good news ! with the latest version of Suunto Apps available, synchronization of SV is now back to normal at last.
Have a nice week ahead

now that the synchronisation is working again as expected, I’m quite curious, is it possible to know what was the origin of the problem?
-
@Stefano-M64 a bug
-
@Stefano-M64 I guess there is no simple logical (to a user at least) answer. Some combination of recorded workouts and maybe device hardware and BLE firmware version led to BLE stack issues.
So only some random users were affected and hence it was hard to identify while testing, then reproduce and fix. -
@pavel-samokha said in Beta firmware for sync issues 2.33.16:

I guess it was linked to the “Speed improvements with Suunto app sync” introduced by firmware 2.33.12
Many thanks!

hello, is it possible to disable automatic updating? Mine happened by itself during the night.
-
@fifi13013 Yes you can. Within the app, you can toggle it on or off to automatically update.
I have mine set to off and it will notify me if new software is available.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos well now it seem like the beta made it to a final.
Strange thing so far weather does no longer sync on my 9PP.
And GPS did not work this morning. There was a messag telling me to wait for the gps indicator and later on a message that I should sync for better gps. After syncing GPS started to work.
Once again the configured autostop settings are gone, while selected Suunto Plus apps are still there.
Had no sync problems before the update. -
@Todd-Danielczyk Great, thank you !!
-
For my 9 PP, the update did not bring anything new. As in the previous firmware version, it syncs flawlessly for the first few days, then stops.
What helps to bring the watch back to syncing:
- Delete pairing with the Suunto App (on the watch) and pair again (plus side no activity data is lost )
or - Turn off / on the watch (all non-recorded activity data such as readiness % is lost)
The phone I use is Android (Samsung S20 FE)
… I wish the robustness of the sync was back to the old good days when I bought the watch in 2023…
- Delete pairing with the Suunto App (on the watch) and pair again (plus side no activity data is lost )
-
I couldn’t update the firmware to 2.33.16 because of the broken sync in the previous one. Currently I have about 30+ logs/activities that are not synchronised and I really do not want to lose them. Does anyone know if there is a way to update the firmware without losing the logs?

Hi all. We would like to thank you for helping and testing the beta firmware. A warm thanks to all of you and most important the patience you had about this sync issue.
Now this version is public and solves the issue. We could not have done this without your help (a couple of people send the devices to support and we had a conversation initiated from here).
Let’s now jump into the next update for the quarter of the year that will come with features.
Kr,
Dimi
