Progress Performance doesn't update and other issues with resources and stress measurement

I have these issues with my Suunto Vertical Ti Solar on firmware 2.33.14.
The progress performance screens doesn’t update at all.I’ve had many runs over 5 KM. I use an external chest strap (Polar H10). I don’t use SuuntoPlus apps. And I use the “Running Basic” sports profile. My CTL, TSS and TSB are moving and changing. I have synced the watch. I have tried soft-resetting the watch. I have set the correct maximum HR and resting HR in the watch. In my running activities I have “VO2Max” tags which indicates that VO2max was increased. But I can never see any stats about it anywhere.
Also my “Resources” widget always show 100% even after poor sleep when I really have zero energy, and I always have 0:00 hours/minutes of stress every day… My Garmin Fenix 7 always detected stress levels and my body battery page was more or less always in line with how I felt. This Suunto Vertical always thinks I have tons of energy even when I don’t. And apparently I never ever experience stress (even if my job is pretty stressful and other watches detect that). Even when I feel super stressed I am just “inactive” with 0:00 amounts of stress according to the Vertical. Wishful thinking
I like mostly everything about the Vertical, except these metrics which seems to be pure guesswork and mostly garbage? And why on earth is the resources always reset to 70% and the daily heart rate data always deleted/wiped after a simple watch restart (power off/on)? That makes absolutey no sense.
Oh yeah and I did a hard-reset after upgrading to 2.33.12 before I also get that suggestion again.

@neonix not sure why you are not getting any VO2max values. Have you tried with some intervals or a tempo block during one of your runs? I never had this issue.

I did another hard-reset, and this time I have not touched the custom heart rate (max and resting) settings. I guess I will know after my run later today. But I seem to remember the last time when I adjusted my max and resting HR and auto-updated the zones, that is when the metrics started to get “funky”.

@neonix I always manually set up my zones, in all watches, so just setting zones should not be the issue. But having very wrong zones could be, e.g. the algorithm could see all activities as too easy.

I suppose you have 24h HR measurement activated, don’t you?
I think there was a bug in Suunto Race, performance was only measured when using optical sensor, not bluetooth external sensor.
Perhaps this bug has been inherited by SV? -
@jjpaz the opposite, Race was working with the OHR and not working with external HR sensor. But Vertical was not affected by this.

Maybe keep hard resetting the watch doesn’t help with metrics calibration afair -

Perhaps this bug has been inherited by SV?Yes, I have everyting enabled. I have also gone for several runs using the optical heart rate sensor of the watch, with the watch higher on my forerarm to get reliable HR data. Still I get no VO2Max or performance progress update.

@neonix let’s try to see this, can you share your HR zones and some example activities in which VO2max was not detected?

I own a Race S since 2 weeks and I have the same problem. I have more than the required outdoor runs to display content in Performance / Running Estimate but both are empty. HR zones are set. I have already tried everything suggested in this post.

Hi all,
I am also affected by this same problem. I’ve had Vertical for 1,5 years now and I’ve never seen these “insights”. My Vertical still keeps asking me to record at least one outdoor run. The software is up to date. I’ve been trying with Suunto HR belt and OHR with Vertical on my better wrist.
I was full of hope when the last SW update was supposed to make VO2max to appear “easier” but no such luck. I’d be glad to hear what are the actual minimum conditions that I should meet for this recording to succeed.
I am a 55 years old overweight male with these zones:
Resting HR 65
Z2 133 ->
Z3 142 ->
Z4 152 ->
Z5 161 ->
Max HR 185 (I’ve set this a little bit higher of what I’ve seen in real life)Below you can find my examples. The first one is a 16 minutes run when I really pushed myself to the limit. You can see that a few times I hade to slow down for a while to catch breath. The second one is a lot longer outdoorsy exercise; I was actually trail walking, but recorded it as a run just to see if there’s any difference.
Both of these have a solid GPS tracking. On the map I can’t see any sudden spikes deviating from the route I was taking.
