SOFTWARE UPDATE 2.33.12 - Q1 2024

I noticed that when the watch is off my wrist, the OHR leds start flashing about 1 second after they get in touch with something and the same way, they stop flashing 1 second after they stop being in touch with something. Just curious what this behaviour is for?
-
@Francesco-Pagano I think it shows you that the OHR Sensor know that you dont wear it and stop flashing to have more battery life
-
@Francesco-Pagano
it is just the way such sensors are working : light emission (LED) and a sensor which tries to see the reflected light from the support.
Light is on only when the sensor think that there is any reflected light to analyze : from skin (logic) but from any potential reflecting support (try with a banana )it is even not the contact, but just near enough to see any reflection

Hello,
Does anyone know if the update changed the vibration notifications during activities?
Before the update I had a vibration every lap (for me every km). Since the update I no longer have the vibrations
Thanks -
@yome77
What is your battery level % ?
Below a certain level, there is no more vibrations. -
@yome77 somewhat lower than 15% the vibrations stop at some areas.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos actually my battery dropped below 15% at the start of my race. Thanks a lot
-
It seems that the activities no longer remember the navigation status, this is the 4th activity in a row that the navigation is set to breadcrumb and not the one I chose previously. anyone else? S9PP
-
this morning I woke up with watch face rotated of 45 degrees and all the UI stayed that way until I made a soft reset. I’m using the last analog face that comes with fw update if that matters. S9PP.
ps it was a funny awakening!
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Hi, is this a bug or is it supposed to be like this? If this is a bug, are there any plans to fix it?
-
OH that would be awesome! Same here, like the analog ones more, them more customizable … maybe for christmas?

Release Notes:
- Three new watch faces
tested, and i will stay on old ones
the analog one is nice, but i would still need/want to have two customizable fields, with all possibilities (almost) on each of the two fields. For example, no way to have battery+date. -
@cjanevate wow that’s a weird one for sure!
-
Overall super happy with the update! Update process was super smooth and no ‘changes’ on UI side, all widgets in the same place as I left them. I just had to resynchronize after the update for the Suunto Plus apps to appear in my workouts. But nothing out of the ordinary. The UI is getting super smooth and it’s superbly enjoyable!
I’ll be testing it in a workout tonight, looking forward to it!
Well done Suunto!! -
@Dušan-Ković I’ve tested it. When I used default (old wach face)
than screen goes black after some time (cca 10 sec), no matter if ‘Always on display’ is selected. If I use some of the 3 new watch faces the screen stays dimmed as at previous fw. But you still have to select sceen to ‘Always on’ before starting an acitivity! Its a BUG! This issue is also happening if you use Race on the wrist, not only on the handlebar! ??? @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos ??? -
Unfortunately, it seems that Suunto is following in Garmin’s footsteps, i.e. instead of fixing obvious problems (disappearing track in navigation, too quick message about the next point, very weak WHR, no key lock outside of training, etc.), it adds new unnecessary functions and generates further problems. It’s a pity, a great pity. The only reason people choose Suunto, Coros or Polar watches is because they are tired of Garmin’s politics. Garmin watches are better in every respect, so if Suunto’s policy does not change to be different from Garmin’s, people will return to Garmin.
Suunto has always won with simplicity and reliability, and let it remain that way. Focus on the problems, solve them, and don’t waste your programmers’ time creating pointless watch faces. We already have dozens of unnecessary functions that do not work properly and dozens of errors in Garmin. Sunnto needs to create a reliable, solid alternative, not duplicate garbage. -
@ppresing same for me. Im using a new watchface and the screen sent black during my run. I dont use always on display, but Im pretty sure that wasnt nessessary in previous fw. Quite annoying…

Mmhhh … I’m a little puzzled here
-
@sartoric Of course, Garmin watches are better, more technologically advanced and more accurate. The only problem is that they do not respect users, do not correct errors for years and introduce many unnecessary changes. Garmin users will sooner or later get bored with it and will look for an alternative. And if they don’t find it, they go back to Garmin, choosing the lesser evil.

more accurate
cough (been a garmin dude for years)
-
@cjanevate in every aspect… WHR, GPS, sleep tracking…
It is not my intention to praise Garmin. I already had a dozen Garmin watches and the same number of Suunto, Coros and Polar. I dream that Suunto will overcome this general mediocrity and disregard of its loyal users
