Backlight

@Ilya-Sul
yes, they might do that.
but from my personal sustainability point of view, I would recommend not to do so.
a potential replacement watch might be better, it might be worse as well, when I read the samsung comment.
in any case, carbon footprint will increase -
@freeheeler @Dusan-DDD @Ilya-Sul why you post a Samsung link? It is a suunto product question. Why dont suunto make a Statement for the Display light “Problem”? The carbon Footprint is not so important, if the user is not happy with the shown on his Display. And this should not be on a 800€ watch. Can understand the user sending back to get a new one. And sure it could be that the new one is more bad, that spokes then agains suunto if this happens more times again. But otherwise there is an Option that the new one is much better, the thing is the user should be happy with this cheap product. And when the Display is not correct or had bad looking --> sent it back so Long that he got a perfekt watch!

@GiPFELKiND
well… I think I can not add anymore value herethe samsung link is just an example with a technical explanation that is generally valid for any screen with this technology
-
@GiPFELKiND
I do have a general question anyway:
my Pixel phone has a punch hole camera in the screen and the lens itself isn’t 100% concentric inside the screen’s punch hole… is this worth a refund?and my business laptop has 1 dead pixel, I see it frequently but it’s not hindering me from doing my work properly… is this worth a refund?
both, economically and ecologically…
-
@freeheeler okay
-
@freeheeler you are right
-
@GiPFELKiND
don’t get me wrong, I’m aiming for high quality when it’s possible, always. but in some cases it’s too much and I ignore my inner urge to have it perfect.I have several examples, personally… but I take them as a chance to overcome my slightly autism-ish tendencies
-
@freeheeler hey @freeheeler sorry Back trip fromm croatia to Braunschweig the last days your thinking is well and yes perhaps i have to reduce some autism

Hello. I’m completely new to Suunto and come from Garmin. Immediately after unpacking the vertical I noticed that the backlight was very uneven. is that normal? I have a halo at the bottom right of the display.!
-
@Schoda Photos would help.
-
Thank you for your answer.
I dont know how to use the photo function.
I Hope it IS allowedcto create a Google photo Link.
-
I don’t know how to insert photos from my smartphone. I have to link these? Can I post a link to a Google photo album?
-
@Schoda
just read this thread from the beginning -
thx
-
@Schoda Same thing. Didn’t noticed that in pickpoint. Only at home

@Sergey-K Wow, I understand some people don’t care about having their expensive watches satisfying to look at, but I am not like that. If I had backlight bleed like that the watch is going back for sure.
-
@Shuhite i returned them to seller. Very sad about it. Now i’m thinking about RACE(but they are not so beautiful) or Garmins.
May be i should wait a couple of month for new watches release…?
I really enjoyed how vertical felt on the hand, how it looked… but i’m scared to buy them again
BTW crown bugs, black screen bug and so on in race scares me too
