Touch screen does not work after finishing activity
-
@Marton-Attila
lucky you -
Hello community! Until today I have been using the new SR watch face and have not had any issues with the touchscreen. But this morning I decided to try changing the watch face to 9peak, and again I had problems with the touchscreen after training on the statistics screen and after on the watch face screen. As in previous times, the backlight worked for more than 1 minute and did not go out (about 20 minutes). I’m guessing there might be a problem with the 9peak dial? In the past, I’ve had problems with the touchscreen after training on this particular watch face. Can someone try and confirm similar behavior? Just in case, I sent the logs to Suunto and informed @isazi about it.

@gerasimos
@Sergei-Ladeishchikov
I am not sure if a specific watchface can influence the behaviour of the touch function. I doubt it but I can’t say for sure because I didn’t take the time to test it.if your watches don’t work as expected, I would get in touch with customer service.
“it works after restart” is nice if it is solved for good. but if you have to restart it frequently, I personally think Suunto should know in order to further improve. -
@freeheeler everything now works perfect!!
I tested it directly in sun…no broblem. Now in Greece it’s like summer!!
So keep fingers crossed. -
new bug!
I did an activity at night and activated the backlight on, so that the light was permanently on… when I finished the exercise everything was fine, but the touch screen did not work and the light “stuck” and was constantly on as it did not automatically lock after a minute in time mode.
I did power off - power on and everything works fine for now.
it’s the second time the software gets stuck on touchscreen issues…
just mention - (for bug collection)
i believe its not hardware (because the touch works any time at any case) but something crashed in last update.
For now I don’t want to go through the reset process, I hope this is the last time it does it. -
I tried a soft reset but it didn’t help, this morning after working out my touch screen stopped working for a while again.
-
@Sergei-Ladeishchikov next step its hard reset…but for now ill be patient.
the watch its about two month brand new and everthing else works flawlessly…so I don’t want such ‘‘aggressive’’ software solutions… -
I have also had several occurrences where the touch screen stopped working.
It has always recovered without any reset but takes a while and it’s quite annoying and worrying.Kind of connected, for several times as well, with the last being the last time the touch screen stopped working, the UI was very busy and confusing, scrolling down the menus without pressing any button at all.
It felt as if a button was stuck and the watch processor was busy trying to scroll (or do something else) meaning the touch was or felt “blocked” (or more technically, the watch processor was not handling any touch events because it was stuck in a loop or something). -
@jjorgemoura I forgot to mention it, I also had the same confusion with the touchscreen…( when the touch screen stopped working)
e.g. it confuses the directions of the menu by clicking on exercise and opening settings
or try to open the widgets and go to the activities menu.
like my old suunto 9 with broblem in buttons and open itslef ( but this is accetable its 6 years old ) -
@jjorgemoura I also experienced similar behaviour on my brand new Vertical after ending an activity: unresponsive touchscreen and “ghost tap”.
Everything returned to normal after a soft reset.
